The Fresh Squad!

The dolls from Fresh Squad have arrive! 

Anthony, Malik and Daniel! There is a swagger to these guys! They were a really great purchase. These dolls are really handsome! 

MaIik is the true Urban King! really love Malik's hair! It is really full!

He comes with the most! He has a jacket, plaid shirt,short sleeve white shirt, jeans and read sneakers.

All dolls come with a laptop, glasses and phone.

Jacket removed, plaid shirt.

White shirt which is slightly stretchy. 

All the doll are bulkier than Ken. There was some time spent in the gym.

Malik's chest compared to Texas Cheerleader chest.

Malik's body is mature... too mature for some of the young looking Fashionista Ken dolls.

I thought about switching the bodies on these two but Malik will keep his body.

Anthony with his bald head is quite suave!

He wears a red jacket.

Anthony Hey there! he wears a pair of black pants and .... 

a shiny top! 

He looks ready for the club!  I think I need to pierce his ears. He seems to be an accessories kind of guy!

The shirt surprisingly doesn't have Velcro closure.

The neck knob is easier to deal with than Ken dolls but still, be careful.

Maybe JB with alterations.

Might work with alterations for Brad or Curtis.

Menelik was the wrong complexions.

I was hoping he could be a body donor for some of my older Steven/AA Ken dolls but no! Those dolls are to light.

Next up is Daniel!

I was able to take a picture of him in the box. That is rare for me!

Here he is in his jacket on out of the box.

The camo jacket is a great detail!  

With the jacket off, he had a long sleeve shirt with a placket on the front. It is the same material as the short sleeve shirt on Malik.

I purchase two Daniels because I new he would make a good body donor from post that I have seen on FB.  Here is on Daniel on a Prince and the Pauper Dominique doll body.  You might notice that the doll on the right has more hair than the other.

Here is Fashionista #131 on a Daniel body.

Here is Twilight New Moon Jacob on a Daniel body.

You can see the other clothes easily, but let's look at the pants!  Malik wears jeans. They are pretty basic.

The pants for Anthony and Daniel are similar in construction but the color and the fabric are different!

Daniel's pants are khaki and Anthony's pants are black.  Also Anthony's pants are stretchy which means they could be used for bigger doll than Anthony.

AA/Hispanic Kevin is Here!

 Hey Gang!

Well I told you about him back in September. He has arrived on the 11th.  I ordered him from    Amazon. He was 14.99 which is what was his retail price is and the price of most of the Mattel kids that were sold with accessories. I got him with free shipping so it was worth getting him now!

And yes, he is as handsome in person as he was in the promo photos!

He stayed in the box long enough for a photo which is rare for me!

  In the promo photos  his plaid shirt... 

is more like to one on Fashionista Tall Paid on Plaid.

The plaid print on the shirt is different!  It is more black and red with a bit of gold. And yes, he does have the bent arm! &%#!!!

In the promo photos, he has white sneakers but in person the sneakers are blue.

He comes with a baby and some accessories for himself and the baby.

I wish that would have done the dark baby with the closed mouth expression! This would have made it more collectible.

He uses the same body as the first Babysitters Inc. boy but his hair is higher so he stands a little taller.

They can share clothes!  I have mixes the fashions in this photo! 

With his looks, he could be AA/Hispanic or even from India.  He doesn't have a name yet. I did purchase two. Not sure if I will customize the second one or not.  Stay tuned.

Video of the Month!

 Hey Gang!

 It time for another Video of the Month! This video is from Maya Craftiworks!  She loves to redress dolls in outfits that seem to be inspired by India. I am not much for gluing an outfit on to a doll but if you are making a doll for display or a center piece( Yes, dolls make great center pieces!), this is a great idea!  She has a lot of outfits that she shows you how to make!

Working on the Project!

Hey Gang!

It way past time we checked back in on the University!  If you have seen the previous post, here is the link!

Darien: I want each group to work on their project separately at home on Google Docs and then work together as a group.

So the class broke into groups to work on their group project. The older students 

gravitated to each other.

Jose: I work a twelve hour day on Tuesday's. I won't be able to meet with you on that day

but any other day will work. 

Lynette: I am good any evening! Keyarah what about you? 

Keyarah: So I work the weekends and weekday. I am only available nights and I have a 

daughter and may need to get a sitter. I will need to know in advance. 

Jose: I have a family too Keyarah, so I know the challanges! The fact they we can do this on Google

Docs will work for me.  I am normally up to 10:30 and up at 5:30.  So I will check for new item before I go to bed and when I wake up!

Jamie: I like doing research!  I will be glad to handle that part of the project. 

Morgan: OK, I really good at writing. Soo if........

Emily-Ann: I think we can make this really interesting!  We can start by brainstorming

ideas!  

Phoebe: That sounds great!  I'll write it all down for now but we can do the rest  of our brainstorming on Docs.

 Darien went around to all the groups to see how they were doing and to answer any questions.

Darien:  It looks like your group is progressing well!

Ms Leo: So gang one of the clubs I belong to is working on Google Docs. It is my first exposure to it.  I am finding it interesting thus far.  I'll let you know how it works for us.

Last Purchases For 2020!

 Hey Gang!

So you might have seen that I have add a few dolls to my blog! Luna, who is Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter doll series.  My Shiori who is Cho from the Harry Potter doll series.

Luna and Shiori!

They are not on their original bodies. Luna is on an articulated Nutcracker Four Realms Clara doll body. Shiori is on a Mary Kate body of Mary Kate and Ashley dolls   That MK body isn't a perfect match for Cho but an OK one. I didn't want to use the Harry Potter bodies for my girls.The Clare body doesn't perfectly fit the Luna clothes. The dress is to small but I may alter it. The other items fit OK.

The two original bodies show the two type of young girl bodies in the Harry Potter line. Cho was a part of the second wave of dolls.  She is supposed to be older and has high heeled beet.

Warning! There will be nude dolls and bodies below!

First and second wave feet!  The legs are the same length the difference in the high heel feet.

All of the girl dolls are pale but Luna is even paler than the others and works well with the Clara body.

Next up is a Jimmy Osmond!

l I have wanted him for a while!  He is kinda hard to find and I don't think they made many.

I didn't purchase him in the box. So, this isn't mine. Picture is courtesy of Goodwill!

I found him on Etsy for under $20.00!

He was part of the Osmond dolls made by Mattel in 1976!

He and all the other dolls in the line have a bent arm. He also has a hole in one hand to hold a microphone which I have but it is not pictures.

He is 10 1/4 inches tall. So he is smaller than Scott but larger than Skipper. Redress, Ossie, as he is called here, is a bit of a character! He is a mischief maker! 

You have to work around the bent arm.  Unlike Babysitters Inc doll's bent arms, his doesn't swing up. Only forward and backward. I makes him a little difficult to dress!

He is kinds cute! You gotta love the freckles!

Lastly is Peter !

Peter is Licca-Chan's Papa, Pierre Miramonde. He is the dad in the story. Pierre Miramonde, a 

supposed French musician married to a beautiful Japanese fashion designer, Orie Kayama.  At least 

that is how the Takara story goes. So why is Licca carrying the "Kayama" surname you ask? 

Apparently, he fell in love with the name that he decided to carry his wife's last name rather than it being the other way around. So he's sometimes Pierre Miramonde Kayama but oftentimes simply

known as Pierre Kayama.

In Johnston he is a teen and his name is Peter.

He isn't as tall as Ken or Tom dolls. He is slightly smaller and a little different than Tom dolls,  He is about a half of an inch shorter.

His hips are different. The are indented for the legs like Tom.

His legs are slightly larger than Tom.  I don't think  the legs bend.  I haven't tried.

The chest is the same. and the neck seem slimmer.

The hands and arms are slightly different too.

His feet are smaller and  don't have the holes in the bottom.

Info on the back of the dolls is different too.

His back says Takara  made in Japan!

He is made in China! His back says Tomy China.
