Will Articulation Become The New Baseline For Dolls? Are The Days Of Stiff Dolls Over?

 Hey Gang!

Are the days of stiff dolls over? Will articulation become the new baseline for dolls?  Why am I asking this? It is because I am starting to see articulation in clone dolls!

These dolls aren't only on sites like AliExpress and Temu but they are starting to show up in local discount stores like Roses, Ollies, and Marshall's.

Found at Roses for $4.99!

Once the baseline was click knees and most dolls, even clones, had click knees. The very low-end clones had hollow bodies. When Mattel went from click knees to Fashionista bodies! I think we all loved them and thought it was the way Mattel was going with all of their dolls.

Fashionista Desiree (about 2008-2009)

Then Mattel stopped the articulation! The last Ryan doll with full articulation in the plaid and one with articulated arms. This was about 2012.
After that, Mattel went with hollow bodies as their baseline in their Fashionista line I was surprised!

There are still stiff doll clones but the fact that articulated clone dolls are selling at the same price as stiff clones may mean that this is the direction that clone dolls are gone.  Can brand dolls be far behind?

Wonder Woman 1984 Young Diana Doll with Horse, in Fashion and Accessories! UPDATE!

 Hey Gang!

Have you seen the Wonder Women Young Diana Doll? She is a character from the Wonder Woman 1984 movie.

 Promo Photos!

I saw her online and wondered why I hadn't seen any promo information about her. They said she was a Walmart item but I hadn't seen her there.

She comes with the accessories you see here.

She looks like the character in the film.
This is a new face sculpt for Mattel and I think she is interesting looking.

She can ride in a variety of positions!

She is like a stunt rider! She can bend her knees but not her arms.

They should have given her arm that bent too since she is a motion character.

I thought she might have been Skipper size but she is 9 inches. So she is more Stacie size. I'm surprised that they didn't give her a bent arm like most Stacie dolls.

UPDATE!

After purchasing the doll, I wanted to show you her! She is lighter in complexion than Stacie doll.
She looks more like a boy in the face than most Mattel dolls but she does look like the character in the movie.
From the movie!
This is a new body! It is bigger and more muscular than Stacie.
The body is marked 2019 because the movie was set to release in 2019 but Covid changed that.

The movie wasn't released until 2020.  It was on HBO Max mostly and theaters in 2020 but didn't break even.

I am thinking about changing her into a boy.  I'll share with you the pictures when I do!

Graduation!

 Hey Gang!

Nola and Debesai have complete their MBA the Fox School of Business this summer!

Nola has worked hard to get her degree and has a new job working for the city of Johnston as the Community Business Developer!

Debesai went for his degree after realizing that running a church is a business and he needed the background to keep of the the programs solvent.
They met at school and became fast friends and study partners share the same classes!
Nola is also a friend of the family and she spends a lot of time with Amenia, Debesai wife.
Amenia is trying to play matchmaker for Nola. I know a few nice guys for her!

This is her photo for the yearbook!

I've Got Greg!

 Hey Gang!

I found Naturalista Greg, the new male Naturalista doll, from Target.com for $8.99! He is the first of the male doll in the collection.

His story and motto is on the back of the box.
Out of the box
Closeup on his face. He has a cute face with full lips! Gotta love a man with full lips!
Hairstyle: Short and neat with temple fade
The shirt says Fade Collection Naturalista
Notice the back of the head isn't faded like the sides. So not a Philly Fade!
Steven with Philly Fade!
Shirt velcro closure.
He has a nicely sculpted chest.
Pants from the front-He has pull up khaki pant.
Pants from the back.
The pants are well made and that is a plus! The pull on waist make them easy to us for other dolls.
He has hair pick sneakers that the pants are worn baggy over. I heard that this style is popular.
Foot comparison. They are the same size! Footwear shouldn't be a problem.

Warning! Nude Doll

Body from the front!
Arms bend at elbows but knee don't bend.
Body from the back!
As you can see, he is shorter than Fresh dolls. I have heard that the Fresh Dolls Malik was a good match as a body donor. I only purchased one Malik.  I have a few extra Kahlil bodies but they are too red!
I only have one extra AA Texas Cheerleader body but tried it and it looks great! Perfect match! Sadly, AA Texas Cheerleader was the only AA doll with this body.  The cacasian body was used for several dolls.

Note! The head is hard to get off without messing up the flocked hair! So be careful if you do it. The neck hole is small like a lot of the Disney dolls done by Hasbro. It is hard to get the head of of the peg. Heating the head might make the flocking come off. I heated the neck only and was able to get the head off without losening the hair.
This body gives him good height!
On the AA Texas Cheerleader body in original outfit.

I can't wait to see the rest of the guys!
