Rafeal DeSante'

Hey Gang!

One of my favorite males in dollyland is this Captain Benjamin Sisko from
Star Trek Deep Space Nine by Playmate. I was a fan of Avery Brooks from
his days of playing the Hawk on Spencer for Hire. He stole the scenes in
that role and was given his own show but it didn’t work out well.  Bad writing
I think. Any way here he is as Benjamin Sisko!
He is a classically trained actor of theatre along with being a jazz musician, opera
singer and college professor. I was so happy to see him in the role of Sisko in
the series. You don't see many African Americans in futuristic shows/movies.
That sends the wrong message.  As with many of the playmate action figures,
he has painted on boots( Boo-boo-boo!). One of the first things I did upon
purchasing him was to find him a new body that would better suit the roles I
had in mind for him. His head has been swapped onto a S Club Chad Hasbro body.

He can't move his arms or legs as well but this really gives me
the versatility to put him in many of male clothing lines.  In dolly world
he is Rafael DeSante’.

In the motion picture business, he is a triple threat. He is a movie writer,
producer, director. He will be taking his talent to the small screen and theatre.
In his personal life he is a widowed father of three. All of the children have
inherited their father’s artistic talents.

His oldest son is Kemit (Moses-Prince of Egypt)

He was born while his father and mother were living in Egypt making a movie.
His daughter Francie/Francesca(Barbie’s cousin Francie she is on a Tiana body)

was born in France where they lived for many
years making many documentaries and historical movies

His youngest child Khaleel (Takara Tom)

was born the Sudan and named after a friend with whom the family lived
while in the Sudan. Sadly it was also where Mrs. DeSante' died in the birth of him.
Currently home base for the DeSante’s is in the US in NY but that is about to change!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

On The Craft Table!

Hey Gang!

I have a few project that need my attention. Some of them are in the planning
stage and some are at the completion stage.  This is going to be an ongoing post.
I welcome suggestion from my blog followers. I don't know it all. So your help
is useful.

First up on my table is Team Skipper boy doll.  They have gone on sale in Target
and are now $7.49. At that price I could try a OOAK project.
The rest of the set that cam with him will be sold off.
I will keep the clothes. But what I want to do is to take some of the almond out of
his eyes.  I can't give him a beard or mustache because he is a child but I might give
him glasses.
First thing I did was to put him on a Stacie body.
I changed his hair color and I working on making his hair into a Afro.  I also changed
his eye color and eyebrows. I will also add pupils.

Next is my dreadlock Blaine doll.  I like the way he looked with my first attempt
of rooting. It has been a few years now so I feel I can do better now.
Especially after this guy!
Find the color I wanted was the hard part.. I am tying two colors to see if I like this.

The smaller dreads will give me more style options  I do plan to cut it.  I don't
want his hair too long.

There is still a lot in the back to do.

Last my Project Table right now is Prince of Egypt Moses doll.
On his original body he had limited posability.  I wanted to put him on a
body with more options. He is now on an AA prince doll I found in a thrift store.
He sports a mustache too!
He is a bit of a "Muff" project. My exposure to the blog "Hey, It's Muff" has
given me courage and inspiration to take on projects for my dolls. He didn't
have a Ken head knob so I have to make one for him,

OK, Thanks For Looking.
