Fugal Finds!

I was back at Dollar Tree and picked up two more outfits/uniforms. A construction worker outfit and a police uniform.

I thought they were good purchases because these packs include items I can use for different things.

The construction worker pack clothing only fits Barbie, not Ken. Even on Barbie, the outfit is a little short in the crotch. 

I can use the helmet for my construction workers. Maybe I should have a woman construction worker! 

I can use the reflective vest for a crossing guard.

The police officer's uniform is two-piece with sunglasses.

I will have to replace the pearl buckle on the uniform. It doesn't work.

The uniform pants are high-waters!

The sunglasses are kinda fly!

I also found these black-and-yellow containers at Dollar Tree. I was surprised and happy to see them there.  I have seen others find them at stores other than Dollar Tree, but none of those stores were close to me.

I know I want to use them for my Home Depot diorama! They always have a section with containers.

I found a container at Home Depot, but it wasn't the right scale.

A new dollar-ish store in my area is Dollar Deals. They have a toy section with dolls and toys.

I found these dogs there!

Gordy, Scotty, Marcus, and Walter.

Bull Terrier, Irish Terrier, Dalmatian, and some kind of hound.

Frugal Finds! Update!!

 Hey Gang!

I found these outfits at the Dollar Tree! I don't know if there are others; these were the only four, and I purchased three.  I thought these outfits might be too small for Barbie, especially the fireman's outfit, but they aren't. The packaging is smaller, with the pant leg folded over.

I purchased these three.

Let's take a look at them!

This one is a doctors/nurse outfit. Most doctors/nurses don't work in satin! 

I thought it would make great P.J.'s. Here is Trisha, who just woke up and is in search of coffee!

This one is a chef's outfit. I purchased it because the top looked big enough for a guy. 

Here is Manny mannequin with the top on and a pair of Ken pants on. The pants are too small for Ken. I will need to open the sleeves up to the top. It is a little tight in the arm but can be worked with. Update: the pants I purchased are a little roomier than past Dollar Tree fashions. They can fit on the bellybutton bottom body.

Lastly, there is this white top and overalls. The overalls have printed detailing.

Our model today is Naira. The issue with this outfit is that it is made for a doll whose head pops off. You can't get the crossed straps over the head or the neck. I will have to remove the straps in the back and add snaps.

Here are the accessories that came with the outfits. The shoes can be used for most Barbies. They are tan and black.

The stethoscope, shovel, spatula, and pan can fit in with other doll accessories you already own.

Dollar Tree Backdrops!

 Hey Gang!

For the last three to four years I have seen posts of the Dollar Tree backdrops.  I haven't seen them in my local stores at all until now! You can imagine how happy and surprised I was to see them in a local store! I purchased three of the four backdrops sets and I am going back to get the fourth set! 

It says they are for an 11 1/2 inch doll but I personally would like it a little taller for an 11 1/2 doll.

I purchased the office backdrop.

When setup it looks like this!

The other side is a front yard with a door.

There are stickers and a buildables.

I also purchased the bedroom backdrop.

The other side is more of the  yard  with a garden.

The final backdrop is the kitchen.

The other side is a yard with slide and a sandbox. 

Because the backdrops for the outside are all pink, it is easier to combine the outside backdrops into one large backdrops!

Fences! On The Craft Table!

 Hey Gang!

One of the things that can be used in a outdoor diorama is a fence.  It can add a lot of detail and can be used to add distance in a scene. 

This fence is one I purchased from Byers' Choice LTD. It is a nice fence. 

I used it like this! See it behind the doll in this photo.

You can makes some nice fencing for a lot less than I paid for this fence. ($38.00)

One thing that makes a great fence is edging from the Dollar Tree or Dollar General!

One thing that you are looking for is scale!

This might mean bringing your doll along for measurement..  This is a good scale if the stakes are shorten.

It looks like a wrought iron fence for a very fance location.

The same can be said for the color plastic edgilng.

Here is how I used it!

It was used in the background for the vechile scene for the Farm Show! 

I need to continue that dio!

You can also use wrapping paper or contact and printed brick paper to make a fence/wall too.

By attaching it to cardboard it can become a fence or wall like this! 

Or this! Brick print with a edge

Now, I found this fence at the thrift store! It is anothe place that you can overlook for diorama fences.

Last but not least, find some sticks and glue them together to make a fence.
