The Little Guys Will Participate in the Lunar New Year Festival!

 Hey Gang!

The little guys will participate in the Lunar New Year Festival!

Julian, Auggie, and Rin.
Auggie: Get over there!
Julian: No, you get over there!
Hiroshi clears his throat!

One of the key things in martial arts is discipline!
The outfits are scrapbook stickers!
I had to remove the stick stuff on the back of the outfit.  It is two pieces. I used a blow dryer to remove the adhesive from the sleeves of the jacket and open up the back seam of the pants. I use yarn to give them a white belt. Later, I plan to add a waistband to the pants. This outfit works better for the narrow SIS kid bodies and the articulated Chelsea size bodies from Five Below. I have used the sticks before, so I knew that they would work.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Chelsea Boy- No Name!

Hey Gang!

I added a new doll even though his does have molded hair!

I purchased him because I saw him at Target.  I really thought he might only
be available online.

He looked paler online. He is about the same complexion as Chelsea.  I have
noticed he has the same QC issues as most of the other new dolls. I think, after
looking at this guy, that the issues are there because the manufacturing style or
process has changed.

While inspecting the clothes of this doll (note the hole)

I noticed that the head has a big seam.   The head is made differently now.

This might be because of the molded hair.  It appears to be two parts  merged
together now causing a seam.
The seams are more obvious (to me) on the body

and the feet too!

I guess as long as the seams aren't coming apart, I am OK with it!
His molded on briefs are more for a boy than the Darrin doll.

 Comparing with Darrin

His shirt/shorts are one piece. So there will be no mixing and matching.

His sneakers are slightly different and have Chelsea printed on the bottom.

It appears that he doesn't have a name....only a number DYT90. If anyone knows
of an online name, please let me know.

I am playing around with him and other dolls to figure out chemistry. Do you see it!
Do they look like friends or neighbors?

Guys in the front!
 I know the answer!
I have a frog in my pocket!
 Let me see!
 The teacher is looking!
 Are you new?
Yes!
 My name is......
In the next row is the
Barrette Girls!
Three time four minus two is ten!
I knew that too!
Heading home from school!
My brother can do tricks with the ball!
 Show em!

I was planning on customizing a brunette boy doll. I still may.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Sunflower Tommy!

Today my Sunflower Tommy arrived!  I didn’t see him when he was released in 2007.  He must not have come to my local toy stores.  I first saw him on the web and I really wanted him… but at a good price!  Many of my fellow bloggers have this doll.  Fellow bloggers feel free to post the link to you Sunflower Tommy!

So here he is out of the box.  He has a great little outfit!  He wears a blue shirt with green trim with a skateboarder on it and khakis with blue stitching.

And blue shoes and…

a frog!

They did two other issues of this Tommy but they were in sets that included other dolls! Kelly/Chelsea collectors refer to the sunflower issue dolls and No Neck dolls because they have a short neck.

Here is a close-up on his face!  He has a sweet face and great eyes!    I love the bowl hair cut on Tommy dolls.  It is my favorite for blonde hair boy dolls. They also used this face mold for the Asian Sunflower doll.  The face paint and complexion of these dolls gives them different looks!

This Asian doll is on a larger body.

There are a variety of Kelly/ Chelsea size bodies. Then there are the SIS Kids.

 Renee added for scale!
Kelly size Tommy added for scale.

Maybe it the hair cut or the short neck or becuase Mattel just didn't do one, but I wanted him on a taller body.  Blonde hair dolls are in constant danger of being the next project around here because they are so easy to acquire.

I’m calling him August!  Because he looks like a kid in August trying on last year’s school clothing!  Yes, It is time for some new school clothes! Say hello to Auggie!

Thanks For Looking!
