May Is Disney Month and Pacific Islander Month! Maui Action Figure/Doll!

 Hey Gang!

So as you might remember, I purchase the Moana doll quite a while back.  A few months after that I saw the Moana and Maui set show up at my local Target but I never saw the Maui doll/action figure by itself.. A few years later, like the beast doll, I started to see Maui show up on Ebay for quite a lot of money. I never though I could use him in my Johnston collection of character because of his body shape and lack of outfits. 

Maui thinks that tattoos are as good as clothes! Maui, it is too cold here to just wear this outfit in the winter in Johnston!

About Maui!

Maui the demigod comes with fishhook swinging action and says 10 phrases from Disney's Moana movie. He is somewhat Poseable. His arms move at elbow but not the knees or feet. His head doesn’t turn either. He has a stubby body and feet.

My Maui!

 Lately Maui has reduce in price so I got one. I got mine used on ebay for $5.00! He wasn't complete as you can see.

I first saw him used in this diorama Maui .(check out the link) Clothes and shoes were sourced for him. He looked interesting here. 

Then saw him used as an OOAK Felix doll. See this video by CupcakeSquad! I stated the video from where Maui was being transformed.

The eyes and face were soften and it gives him a better look. I hope to make him  some outfits and have him as boyfriend for one of my plus size girls.

May Is Disney Month! The Nutcracker and The Four Realms Clara'!

 Hey Gang!

In 2018 Disney released the movie The Nutcracker and The Four Realms!

I have purchased several of the 2018 The Nutcracker and The Four Realms Clara's Soldier Uniform Dolls. Most were from a discount store but a few I found on eBay. There are two dolls from the line.

Body-wise, the body is the size of  Babysitter Inc(BSI) Skipper doll but the complexion is 

lighter and the doll's head is the size of Stacie doll. The body is shorter than Petite Barbie 

and has less articulation.

I purchased the first one as a body replacement for my Hanna-Babysitter Inc. Asian doll.

I notice that the body would also work for the BSI Courtney doll. The body is too light for the other BSI dolls but

It is a great match for Harry Potter's Luna doll and it should work for Cho! So she will get a replacement. It could work for some of the other Harry Potter girls. It is a little light but works.

It also works light petite dolls like Petite Fashionista #124.

May Is Disney Month! Live Action Ariel Doll!

Hey Gang!

I was really excited about the Live Action Little Mermaid movie with Halle Bailey. Many little Black were excited also to think that they could be Ariel. 

I was surprised that there was some push back on a black person playing Ariel. I didn't think there was anything about her character that said she had to be white. It is not like the character was of European like Irish or English or something.

As you can see it is a good representation of the actress. 

There is a Disney store version of the doll too but this is one of the new Mattel dolls. Mattel normally does a good celebrity face!

I don't like the molded on top and tail.

I would have liked a cloth top and tail that covered doll legs. The colors on the tail and body are very pretty.

She is in two parts. The Body and the tail.

Without the tail she is shorter than Barbie and the head doesn't seem as oversize( balloon head)

as the old Mattel Disney dolls.

She has a really great face!

So as you might imagine, I am not a fan of a tail only doll. I had to find her an articulated body!

This Extra doll was a good fit. She has the same headsculpt as my Jamie. 

I purchased this doll for the clothes so I don't need the head.

I'm not a Extra fan either but they make good body donors if on the expensive side.

With the new release of dolls and movies by Disney is the Peter Pan and Wendy dolls.

The info on the dolls says: Wendy Darling doll is also fully poseable and wears her robe and pajamas in a removable soft fashion. Also includes removable shoes and necklace. Wendy doll also has long, brushable hair for endless styling fun!

She makes a great body donor for other Barbie dolls! 

He is shorter than the boy Babysitters Inc. Doll.

Out of the box, he has the body of the Harry Potter boys and is the same height.

I thought this guy might be the right complexion to give the Mattel AA/Hispanic Babysitters Inc. an articulated body.

So I tried in on the body. It is not a spot on match but a good match.
