My New Texas A&M AA Cheerleader Doll Arrived In The Mail!

Hey Gang!

Today my new Texas A&M AA Cheerleader dolls arrived in the mail.  I came home
to find this going on in my hallway......

 Khadijah:  Are you nervous?  

Brandon:  Yes!

Khadijah:  Don't be nervous!  It happened to me and I am better

 for it. I'm here to support you!

Fatimah:   And I am here to support both of you!  It happened to me too!  

I had one of those MM bodies like you Brandon and I'm just fine!

 Khadijah:  So why are you here?  

Artsy:  I have heard a lot about these head swaps but have never seen one.

Fatimah:  Don't worry about her.  She probably just a donor.  

She won't be here too long!

Artsy:   Hey, I heard that.  My head isn't all that big and I got great face paint.  

I might stick around.

 Artsy:  You don't look all that different from me and you're here! 

 Khadijah:  So, why are you here?

Ghana Barbie:  This is my furniture you all are sitting on.  I am here to make sure
it goes back in the upstairs hallway when you are done.

 Fashionista Ryan: Am I too late?

Fahionista Ryan:  Is this... him?

 Fashionista Ryan:  I am to be a comparison body to him.  I am dying to see him and what he can do!

 Brandon:  Now I am getting really nervous! 

Khadijah:  Why?

 Brandon:  What if Ms. Leo doesn't give me the new body.  What if 

my complexion is wrong or something?  What if his head is better than mine?

I could get sold and I would never see you again!

 Khadijah: Ms. Leo wouldn't do that. right Ms. Leo?

Ms. Leo: Ah, ...oh,   Well, I can't make any promises but it is my 

plan to re-body him.

 Elsa: Hey,hey, hey!  I heard that there are cute guys around.

Elsa: Oh, your cute!

Khadijah:   Look Miss, this is my boyfriend's re-boding.  

He's got a girlfriend....me!

Elsa:  Hey, nothing around here is written in stone.  You're one person's love 

interest today and somebody else's tomorrow!  You got to fight to be here!

 Fatimah: Don't worry sis!  I take care of her! Is it a fight you want?

Bea: Am I  too late?  Is he here?

Artsy:  Now this looks interesting! He, he. Where is the popcorn!

Bea: I heard that the new Cheerleader AA Ken had arrived!  

Wow, this box is sooo big!

 Khadijah:  Now I am worried!

Elsa:  Do you have a girlfriend?   

Fashionista Ryan: I am only seventeen!

Elsa:  That doesn't matter to me!

 Brandon:  I love you and you have nothing to worry about! OK!

Khadijah:  OK!

Bea: I was told that there were two in this box, girl.  So stop tripping!

Lando Calrissian

General Lando Calrissian action figure from the Star Wars was a
must for me. Not onlywas he an action figure of an ethnic male and
a celebrity...it was Billy Dee Williams! Billy Dee was one of the
hottest African American actors for a long time. One of the
first African American lead actors in a futuristic movies. For a long time African
Americans weren't portrayed in the futuristic movies.  It might lead you to believe we
weren't going to be there.  Now Billy Dee was older than I am but he was
an Icon in the black community.  I was sad when I saw him do liquor ads on TV.
I hope he come to TV soon.  So many great actors and actresses are coming to
 TV now.

There are several different Lando Calrissian action figures on the market. but this is
the one that I purchased.  I not going to tell you it is the best likeness.  Since this is
the only one I own and I have  never seen the rest in person, I can say.  I just
know that I like him and it was about time I posted him.

He is made my Hasbro. He is on the GI Joe body.  His costume is well made and
his boots come off which is not always the case with many of the Star Wars action
.figures.

So here he is in Johnston!  He manages the local bank.  He and his family will be moving here.

 Lando:  I have kept my first name.  My last name is Martin.

 Lando:  I want you to meet my family!  First my beautiful wife Melanie! 

Melanie:   Hi everyone!
She is a Target 2011 Barbie Basics #002 AA that has been head swapped on to an Artsy body.  She is wearing a Star Doll dress.

 Melanie:  These are our daughters Bethany and Brittany. 

The girls: Hi! We are twins!
They are the dancing Princesses  Hadley and Isla who have been head
swapped on to the darker version of the the HSM Gabriella doll body. Yes,
there were two different color bodies. One was creamy colored and one was
more caramel colored.

So this is one of our new families.  I had to show Lando because I am still waiting for
Texas A&M AA Cheerleader Ken.

Recently Re-bodied Dolls

Hi Gang!

So I have been re-boding dolls with the bodies I got from the thrift store.  So far I
re-bodied seven dolls.  Re-boding dolls does give them a new life!  I am happy that
I have gotten to a few of my favorites.

So here are the dolls!

I was really glad to give my Erica Kane doll a new body!  I have wanted to play
with her more and give her a family.  I don't think she will be quite the drama queen
that she is on TV. She will keep her name.

This is the HSM Disney version Sharpay doll that I showed you in my 

What I've Been Up To Part Three post.  I re-bodied her to make her an 

older doll.  Her face looked to old for that smaller body!

 Here she is with her mother Fiona. I think she is moving to be closer to her parents

Fiona: Hi everyone!  This is my daughter Shannon.  I am hoping to spend more time
with her and my grandson now.

 Shannon: Ahh...mom!  It will be good for us to spend time with you and dad too!

Next is Shelia!  I got her head at thrift store and planned on selling her but she
wanted to stay.So I re-bodied Shelia and Shannon onto Disney Rapunzel bodies
I showed you in the What I've Been Up To Part Two post.  Rapunzel's head is
for sale on my dollpage site if you are interested.

 She is too cute!  I love me some redheads!

 She is also Shelly's little sister.  She will spend a lot of time with Shelly and her children too!

 This doll was Riviera Barbie 1998.  I have had her for a while but haven't played
with her or posted her.  So now she is out and about!  Her name is Charlize and she
and her family spend time in Palm Beach and Johnston.

You met Ingrid at the airport.  Well here she is with her sister Elsa.  They both work
at the airport.  They travel a great deal internationally and they both are big "flirts!"

 Ingrid: I'm not a flirt! Are you a flirt?  Elsa: Who is that cute guy over there!

Finally, is my Turn Back Time Cher.  I hated the model Muse body she was on.
So now she can move. I think I sold her body a few years ago.  Her head had
been hanging around.

 This version of Cher has blue eyes and pale skin.  She looks Russian to
me. I named her Karina.She and her husband will be business people in our town.

OK!  I am now waiting for my AA cheerleader guys to come in the mail.  I order two.
I was told that one shipped on the 13th  and the other would ship on the 20th.
Why two.  I don't know if Mattel will do any other AA articulated dolls.  I will keep
the second doll's body as an extra.

25 Posts In My Draft Folder!

Hey Gang,

I have 26 post....no...25 post in my draft folder.  These are post that I started
and didn't finish.I really think I need to get it down and keep it down to a
workable number.  Like maybe 10.  So this means that I need to finish a few
of them and post them.  Now that might sound easy but many of them are
unfinished because there are things that I need to do or complete to post
them.  My big dilemma is always do I finish something that I started that
 might take a while or do I post something that might not take too long
to put together?

1. How would you handle it?
2. How many draft posts do you have?
3. How many projects are you working on right now... ie, items to
paint, re-roots, clothing to finish, things that need fixing, sets to build?
4. What is your biggest project?
5. What are you dreading starting or completing?
6. What gets you motivated?
7. What seems to get in your way?

My Trip To Target and Toys R US!

I had a day off to do some errands, so I decide to stop by Target and Toys R Us.  You may know my car is down, so I had the Mister's car. This made it the best time to do it.  But of these stores are right off Cottman Avenue here.  If I were walking it would have been a little bit of a walk but only about two minuets driving.

I felt like I needed a treat because there wasn't a International Black Doll Show 

 in Phila.  this year. Boo Whoo! I really wanted to go.  I looked for info on the web but didn't see anything.   I contacted Dana of  Philly Doll Collector to find out that there wasn't going to be a show this year.  So Sad!  I know the doll community missed it!  Hopefully it will be back next year.  It was the only doll event 

in this area. I always got some really nice things there and I was good to see what others are doing.  I have to renew my membership too!  Maybe I would attend the show in NY if I knew when it was.  So if you know, let me know!

Anyway back to the dolls!  I went to Target first!  I got this lovely girl there.  She is Theodora from The move the great and powerful OZ.  I just loved her outfit.  I had seen these doll on other's blog but this was my first time seeing them in person.  They were on sale too! She was 13.98.  I would have paid that for the outfit alone!

She dose look Spanish!  She has really beautiful brown eyes!  She looks thoughtful but at peace.  She has a slight pout to her lips.  Her makeup is very natural.  The jacket is a pretty red felt-like fabric.

I loved the pose with her on the back of the box.  The hat is killer for a plastic hat.  The boots are great too!

I am giving thought to purchasing this guy now that I have her.  I like his clothing also.  It would fit well into my menswear here.

She wears a kinda tights/pants with a belt with her great textured boots.  She wears a very nice white satin wrap blouse with a lace collar. Theodora has articulated elbows but unfortunately her legs don't bend at all! Dang it!

Under her outfit...what a surprise ...a painted on red corset.  It isn't too bad as painted on clothing goes.

I have been changing the legs out on dolls a lot in the past year so one of the first things I did is to see if I could give her a new set of more pose-able legs.

One of my belly button Barbie dolls was glad to donate the gams!  Now at least she has legs that can bend!

Halle Berry tried to give her some posing tips.  Halle has been on an Artsy body since I purchased her at the Philly Doll Show.  Boo Whoo!   Having pose-able hands do make a big difference.  Theodora can't quite get the pose.

But Halle really loves the Theodora outfit.  She thinks it is very her.  It shows off all her best features.  Just what you might see her in as she shows up at an airport. That is pre-pregnancy.

Ms. Berry...this way!  Ms. Berry... over here.  Ms. Berry, who is that you are wearing?

I found Artsy Dolls on sale at Target too.  There were only two and they were $10.00.  Not bad for a fashionista.  I noticed that I haven't seen too many Artsy dolls now that they released the SIS dolls. That's why I purchased them both.  I have saved some money on re-boding so I decided to spend a little too!

I loved this outfit when I first saw it several months ago but I couldn't spend the money then.

This is not my favorite Artsy head so I had no problem giving her body to another doll.  My Diva Collection doll got one.  She is Eva, a recording artist who is a cross between Rihanna and Patra.  Eva: Excuse me, where are my shoes?

Ms. Leo:  Ooops! Sorry Girl!  Here they are.  Eva: That's better!

I also found Winx Aisha at Target.  I got her for the pose-able body but...who knows what might happen.

She does have a cute face.  I'll let you guys know what happens with her.

I found these Littlemissmatch  outfits for 8.00 at Toys are us.  The shoes may be too big but I thought that the clothing would work well for some of my larger dolls. So I got this one ...

I know I could have made some of these outfits but sometimes it is now to purchase something when you see it.  I am not sure if one doll will get all of these or if I will spread it around.

The last thing I got is another Cody Simpson doll for re-bodying.

Can't have too many spear bodies. His clothing will work around here too.  That makes the purchase easy.
