The Chinese New Year is February 1st! We are getting ready with a photo shoot!
Legend states that the Chinese New Year stemmed from an ancient battle against the Nian, a terrifying beast that attacked people and ate children. The people used fireworks and firecrackers to chase the beast away. This tradition has been continued until the present time and the festival serves as a time to gain good fortune.
The Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, is the most important celebration observed in China, with cultural and historic significance. The festival signals the beginning of spring, and the start of a new year according to the Chinese lunar calendar. This holiday is celebrated by many Asian countries.
This is the year of the tiger! Like their eponymous zodiac animal, people born in years of
the Tiger are vigorous and ambitious,daring and courageous, enthusiastic and
generous, self-confident with a sense of justice and a commitment to help
others for the greater.
Jody the tiger, on loan from the zoo, makes his appearance in these photo shoot. Rubbing peanut butter on his mouth helps him make this fierce face on cue.
