May is Disney Month! Latest Purchase-Disney Frozen II And Tangled!

 Hey Gang!

So you  might remember me mentioning that I like the dad in the Disney Frozen 2 Arendelle Royal family set but that I didn't want to pay the price for him. I've looked at him every time I'm in Target.

Frozen II Arendelle Royal Family set!

Well waiting pays off! I found the dad, mom, Kristoff, Anna and Flynn Ryder all at a great price! Just in time for Disney Month!

First, about the characters from Frozen 2:

Ana

Queen Iduna

Kristoff

King Agnarr

You got to love this face and I'm a sucker for red hair!

Finally there is Flynn Ryder!

This doll were a great find! Each doll will get its' own review later but I wanted to show you them.  They need a body swap and restyling and then they will make a great addition to the blog!

Disney Males and Video of the Month

Hey Gang!

Mattel doesn't do many male face sculptures all at once. As a matter of fact,
there are currently more male face sculptures in all Mattel's lines now than
ever. Right now in their Barbie playline ( not including Gamer) there is one
Ken face sculpture (some with different hair), two AA face sculptures
(one an old and one new), and one the have not given a background.

In contrast because of movie merchandising, Disney has always had more
and different head sculptures released at the same time. There is normally
a male character for each female lead character.

In the beginning of my doll collecting, the of the first males
I purchased was not Mattel Ken but a Disney male by Mattel.

Yes this guy Kocoum.  On a new body and named Bison Most of the first Disney
male doll available in toy store were made by Mattel for Disney back then.  He is still
my favorite but he does have some competition!

And in the beginning, I was skeptical of Disney dolls especially the one not made
by Mattel!  I didn't really like them. I thought their heads were too big and their eyes
were too cartoonish!  Yep, Disney had balloon head dolls before Mattel did them.
Disney Bell

 Mattel Fashion Fever

I didn't think Kocoum was made that way!  His head is not so large and maybe because
he was a serious character, he doesn't look so cartoonish! Mattel with Disney has done one
of the few Native American male doll or indigenous male dolls....

I have slowly been worn down! I guess it started with Li Shang and Naveen.  There
are just so few male fashion dolls and fewer ethic male dolls that I add Disney males
to expand my collection.  I hate having single female dolls around.  They seem lonely.

Naveens!
Disney and Mattel.
I even purchased a new Li Shang with molded hair.  I will make him a brother.

After purchasing the Mattel version of these male dolls, I started looking at
the Disney store versions and purchased them too!  Mattel only came out with one Asian!
Thank goodness there have been AA Ken/Stevens and others.

I have added Lucas to my collection!  Yes, that is the name that I have given him.

He is Disney Prince Philip!
I might change his body but not right now!

I might want to do what pseudanoymous did from Flickr did body wise but I really
have plans to do what he did to Flynn Rider hair.  For now I only have the doll!

I also purchase a Frozen Kristoff.

The doll they sold in the stores had the molded on clothes but the eye looked
forward. The Disney store doll had clothes you could take off but it was side
glancing.  As you might know, side glancing is not my favorite!  I got both at
thrift stores thinking the heads would be interchangeable but they were not the
same complexion nor do that have the same neck knob.

I have come across many Captain Phoebus doll!

They make great body donors for darker complexion 70's, 80's and 90's.
I has used him for Kocoum.  He is a good match but I like the liker AA
body for him even better.
I decided to give him a repaint and make him a Native American.  His facial
features work to me. The hair and the eye color were wrong though.
Cheveyo!
He was asked by Running Bear to preform the Cleansing Ceremony for  the longhouse.

Disney Dolls

Hey Gang!

This is my Disney Month!  So, I will talk a little and show some pictures
of Disney dolls.  You know I can't purchase nor would I want to purchase all of
the dolls I will be show this month, so many will be pictures taken in store. So
some will be new in box and others will be from the thrift store or in my collection.
I may not be able to do detail pictures but I will try! I will be hard for me
to post, respond and view other blogs because my tablet is down!  Now
that is a bummer.  I am work from the library! :(  Thank goodness for
the library!

First, I want to say that no one has done a better job merchandising their
products as Disney!  They do the full roll out normally!  I guess they have struck
gold with the Princess movies because they keep them coming.  Along with the
movies you get the dolls and other Paraphernalia!

Mattel has done many of the Disney dolls sold in the U.S. along with a few other
companies.  Because of the many companies making the dolls, the face mold of the
princesses have change over the years. Also depending on where you purchased it
(in a toy store and not Disney Stores) it could be different in the same year. There
are many face molds to each princes doll.  I would say even more than Barbie!
The only draw back is that there is not a date on the heads of these dolls like
Barbie. Below is one of the new Mattel Sleep Beauty doll. I would say this head
mold is about two years old but don't hold me to it!
I also found this one in the store!
I thought she was the same as this one but side by side they look different!
Here some of my Sleeping Beautys for this blog! This is my AA Sleeping Beauty

Two other dolls that I have also.  The one on the right's eyes change when
hot water is applied.

Frozen was a big success for Disney!  They have done several of the dolls from
the movie. Below is Anna.  Redheads do well for Disney and there seems to be
more redheaded characters now. Something that Mattel doesn't do as many of.

Close up of Anna.  Back when Mattel did the balloon head/ big head dolls.
they made the Disney dolls heads larger too!  Although now the Mattel doll
heads aren't quite as large as they use to be, the Disney doll heads remain large.
Many people don't like the Disney dolls because they think that they look too
cartoonish.  I believe it depends on the doll.  Some are and some aren't as much.

I do like the mixture of color in this dolls hair.  Strawberry!
Anna and Elsa

Disney has done a skating version of these dolls also!
It would have been nice to have cute clothing and not painted on items.
Oh, well!
Elsa Skate version
Also the painted arms.

Not being a follower of the movie I didn't know what to expect in dolls or
play related items from the movie.

Next is Kristoff.  This is the one that is seen most often in stores!

Close up!
I don't real like clothing of any type that is attached and can not be removed.  So
although I am alway on the hunt for new guys.  I won't be purchasing this guy!
I do like his face.
Painted on under shirt and painted on pants.  Bummer!  I sure the shoes  don't
come off either.

There are other version of this doll!

This is the 2pak Anna and Kristoff
