More On The Tsai's

Hey Gang!

Three Tsai brothers have moved to Johnston after prodding from their cousin
Connie.

Connie: You guy have to be tire of moving all around!  We need to stick together!
Besides who other than family is going to sit for our rambunctious kids!

The Tsai family is originally from San Francisco.  Their family originally
came to the United States to build the railroads. Yes, they are Chinese but
they are Americans too!

One branch of the Tsai family moved to Oregon to farm.  The boys are from
that side...Blaine, Blake, Blair and little brother Blaidyn. They lived on an
fruit orchard.Their father grew the fruit and their mother was an artist.
They grown up spending a lot of  time outdoors. They like martial arts and
loved to fight as boys.  Anything was a weapon to them. They still fight as
adults! It is a little different! It is mostly verbal unless they are in the dojo!

Hae is married to Blake Tsai!  They are both teachers. They met while teaching at
the same high school.  He had been teaching longer than she did.  Blake offer to help
her get things organized and show her the ropes.
Blaine and Blair: Yeah, helping the new teacher!
Blair: That's so lame

Blaine and Blair
Blake: OK, You guys want some of this! I didn't think so! Don't make me take my tie
off!
Blake has been named teacher of the year... and met the Present! Hae was a
runner up.
They have moved to Johnston with their daughter.
Hae: Your brothers are just teasing!
Blaine and Blair: Like we would be afraid of him taking his tie off!

Blake and Hae have a daughter Meadow.
Blake and Hae have been taking care of their niece Willow for his brother Blaine
while he was on a long term teaching job overseas.

His wife died two years ago.  He has moved here for a position as an Art professor.

You have also met Kieu...

but you know her husband, Blair and the other brothers.

Connie introduced them...well kinda.
Connie: I invited her to a party I was giving.  I had invited Blaine and Blake. Let me tell
you it was really hard to get Blaine to even come!  I really thought that Blake or Blaine
would have been more her type than the care free Blair. Who knew? I didn't even invite
Blair! He just showed up! The next thing I knew she was moving in with him! Moving In!
Conservative Kieu was moving in before being married! Six months later they were down
the aisle.

Blair: I knew what I wanted her when I saw her! It was seeing her in traditional dress that
did it for him.
And she speaks five languages including Chinese. Blaine and Blake spoke Chinese
better being older. He has since gotten better.

Blaine and Blake: You fell at her feet begging! You followed her around the whole
party!
Ha, ha, ha! She made you get a real job too! No surfing all day!

Blair: What ever!
Blair is a father of three. He and Kieu have a son Blaisden, continuing the the BL names,
his mother calls him Rin, a daughter Mio.
Rin and Mio
The Tsai men love their hair! It is a part of their mother's culture.
She was Japanese.
and a daughter Cheri.

Blair has just opened a sporting goods store in Johnston. His love of sports
combined with his love of the outdoors while in college.  He got his degrees
in Phys-ed at West Chester University. The setting and the school let him know
that small town living was the life he wanted!

Youngest brother Blaise is still in college back in Oregon! He hasn't made a visit but
they are expecting him for Easter break!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

The Tsai Move To Johnston!

Hey Gang!

The Tsai are a major family in Johnston.  You met a few of them previously.
You might have realized that they were family.

You met Blaine
Blaine is an artist and was an assistant professor of art at N.Y.U.
He didn't have tenure at N.Y.U.  It was a hard thing to get.  When he
was offered a spot at Johnston University with tenure, he jumped on it!
The rest of his family wasn't far behind.

his daughter Willow

 His sister-in-law Kieu
We will hear more about her later.

His other sister-in-law Hae
You remember her from the rehearsal.  She is the one on the
left.  Here is her daughter.

His niece Meadow

His cousin Connie

We will hear more about her later too.
If you read this post anywhere other than
It is a fake!!! Run!!

and her children
Bracken and

 Fern.

I'll try to fill-in the family gaps soon!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

I’m More Like My Mother Than I Thought…

At least With Dolls!
I grew up in what today would be considered a large family.
Back then it was not. There were five of us. Both my
parents worked but my mom was expected to still take
care of the home. (Side bar-you know I couldn’t have
made it back then because wouldn’t have had all of that
men don’t do house work crap!) So with working inside
and outside of the home, this meant my mom was a
very busy woman!

I was the fourth of five children. My younger sister was
2 ½ years younger than me. I was never sure if it was
because my mom was so busy it was easier, or that she
thought it was cute or because it was the cheapest way
to do it but mom always dressed my sister and me alike.
Some time there was a difference in color, I was in red
and my sister was in pink, but most of the time it was
the exact same outfit. I absolutely hated it! Now mind
you my sister was an almond complexion and I was
more of a dark walnut but people would always ask
“are they twins?” Insult to injury! I always complained
about it. My mother would say “when you buy your
own clothes, you can wear something different than
your sister.” Well, I was never one to back down from
what I thought was a challenge and I started doing odd
jobs at a young age and learned to restyle things too. I
can’t tell you that it solved the problem but that more
for another post.

So I had a second edition Julian doll on my dollpage
that had not sold so, I decided that he would be a brother
to my other second edition Julian. He would not be a
twin brother but be a little brother. I also had a Swan
Lake Tommy. His hair style was too much for a toddler
but not for a child a bit older. So I swapped the head
from a Tommy doll, to make a little brother for the
Julian. Tommy’s head went on Julian’s body. So now
I have two dolls with a Julian face. I haven’t given them
names or a family yet but I hope to do so soon. And
yes… it was a little easier to put them both in the same
outfit.

The brothers! So here they are!
The two will the Julian face...

Tommy is a little chubbier than Julian is around
the middle.

...and the Swan Lake Tommy on the new body with his
brother. He and his bother are called Xavier and Xanti.
I have a family in mind for them.

Tommy’s body was a little darker but not too much. To me,
siblings at this age always look a lot alike!

Xavier always looks after his brother!

Here are the boys at Smith Playground! They love it there!

You have to do the sliding board.

Girls on the seesaw.

Xavier tell Xanit how to be safe before they start to play!

Enjoying the day!

Some play ball...

but one is noticing the boy on the sliding board.

Loving the swing!

Cousins Play Outdoors!

Here Are The Cousins!

Hey gang, I am still within my budget! Yay! I ordered this to girls a few weeks ago. They came nude but I found something for them to wear form my favorite thrift store.

They are cousins, except, and brother and sister. This is Willow in the blue and

Meadow in the yellow. They were under two dollars each.

They are jointed by their cousins who are bother and sister. This is Bracken and

his little sister Fern

Bracken is a head swap doll. He was the baby in the Dr. Yue Sai Wa Wa set. Vanessa had suggested that I do this a while back. At the time, I didn't have the courage. After see whatDollz4Moi with OHC girls, I had a little more courage. I think he turned out well! Fern is an Asian looking Kelly size doll I already had. They are all enjoying a day outdoors.
