Boy Scout Action Figures Video Of The Month!

 Hey Gang!

The first time I saw the Boy Scout action figure was on Roxanne's Dolls! She had a great post about the BFF Ink doll Calista doll and Boy Scout Bob. The running posts were in a dear dairy style about a young girl. Calista's love interest was Bob the Boy Scout.  I looked him up and he was made by Kenner!

Nerd Rage did a great video on the action figure and I posted it below.

"A brief history of Kenner's Boy Scouts of America Line A.K.A. Steve Scout. which came out in 1974, and ended in 1975."

One of the points made in the video is that Bob and the other scouts' heads might fall off with play. So if you have them, be careful or have glue! Also, since these action figures are 40 years old, the uniforms aren't always in the best of shape. Many are pretty faded. The shirts on my uniforms have holes. They are made from cotton.  The pants are made of twill and have seemed to hold up better.

Boy Scouts Steve and Bob are 9  3/4 inches tall. Cub Scouts are Craig and Dave are 8 1/2 inches tall.

In their uniforms, Craig in the blue and Steve in the khaki green.

Craig is the blonde and Steve is the redhead.
In their uniforms AA scouts, Bob in the khaki green and Dave in the blue.
Bob is the tall one and Dave is the shorter one.
The Boy Scouts do a three-finger salute and the Cub Scouts do a two-finger salute.

Warning! Nude bodies!

The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are definitely action-figure bodies! They have broad shoulders and narrow waists. They are more muscular than other kid dolls of the same size.
They are more than Stacie-size dolls.
Thighs, calves, and arms are beefier.
Steve and Bob can wear some Stacie-size boy clothes and CreateableWorld world doll clothes depending on the cut.

The Cub Scout body is a better fit in Stacie-size clothes.
Bob and Dave with their mom and dad.
Mom is Christy and dad is Joe.  Meet the Jacksons.

Roxanne does a video at the end of Calista's diary post of Bob and Calista dancing.  It is super cute! I had to share it with you guys.

Projects For The Month Of July!

 Hey Gang!

I want to do more dioramas/stories.  What I realized is that I need more props, backdrops and items that give detail to dioramas because I have tons of stories The first thing I do when looking at a story is look at the background the clothes and the little details in the post! I feel these things give the dioramas/stories texture and interest! I sometimes find things that I didn’t know were available 1/6 scale! Then I am on the hunt for those items.

One of  my plain shots!  Hiroshi Takada

I often take a plain picture while planning out my diorama to see what it looks like and what I need to add to give it that texture that I want and love. I have been blogging long enough to up my game on dioramas and other things doll related. I am taking this time to also organize my 1/6 items. I can’t tell you how many times I want to do a post and can’t find the items I want to use.  So I will organize and remember to put things back after I am done too! * I am still waiting for my AA Signature Looks male to arrive.*

One of my favorite male characters is Hiroshi Takada.  His character and storyline is well developed in my mind! If he is to be ready for my next series of post for Chinese New Year, he is going to need a dojo!

So here is a simple post of a story as I take some test shot of the layout of the dojo. Hiroshi is joined by a few others of my favorite characters Thomas J. and Chet Chang.

DoJo Test Shots

Hiroshi gives martial arts instruction at his dojo!  He has be working with Chet as one of his private students.

 Chet: Good morning Sensei!

Hiroshi: Good morning Chet!

Chet: I have been practicing my forms.

Hiroshi: You are been working hard and it shows.

You still need to do some running to build up your wind! You need to spar with a partner.

Chet: I have been doing sparring with you!

Hiroshi: No, I have been instructing and correcting your form!  I will be better                                   able to do this if I can observe you with a partner...an opponent.

Thomas J. Woo

Chet, meet Thomas J.  He is also a student of mine.

I think having you two spar together will be good for both of you!

I am trying to decide if I will want the walls black and a light floor. I have seen wooden floors but not sure if that is what I want. I want to add some art work, posters and a trophy case to the scene.  I like the idea that My Froggy Stuff had of the free standing punching bag. I have my shampoo bottle ready. I am also thinking about a mirrored wall. I want to be able to have more than one thing going on in the dojo at the same time. So one of the walls will fold out for more space.

A Few Doll Finds From Facebook!

 Hey Gang,

I was able to pick up a few things on Facebook!  Sometime you get great stuff from people looking to reduce their doll collect.  I wanted to show you some of what I purchased.

First up are the heads.

Asian Joe Head

Often with a lot of dolls on the market, all I want is the head!  I got a GI Joe head and a Captain Kirk head for $3.00 each.  I thought that they were a great buy!  I rebodied them both.

Asian GI Joe on a Action Man Body

On a Action Man body he is much taller than a Joe and can fit many of the clothes I already have.  Yeah his hands are large but I can work around that and it doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

Captain Kirk Head

Captain Kirk's head is sharing the same Texas Cheerleader body as Mattel Rock Hudson head.
Right now Kirk is using it.
In some picture that I saw he looked a little different but I like the way he looks!  He is wearing one of my new shirts that I will share with you guys later.

The next purchase were dolls!

One that I have never seen before and one that I wanted!

I got this You Doll for $9.00!

I had never heard of this doll line. She came nude and I put a dress that was laying around on her.

You Dolls are a customizable 1:6 scale fashion dolls by MacMillan Toys in 2015. for $39.99 customers on the You Doll website could choose a doll with a variety of skin tones, eyes colors, and hair styles.  They couldn't combine a particular hair color or style with a particular skin tone and eye color. Instead, customers had to choose from fifty different pre-produced combinations of skin tones, hair color, hair length and eye color.

She has articulated arms and hands...

and knees
Her feet are the same size as the 80'-90's Barbies.
She as an interesting face and the head is overly large.
Here is an exaple of what you could choose from.

Customers chose an outfit and an accessories pack for their doll. The clothing looked like clothes real people would wear.  Customers chose an outfit and an accessories pack including more than 100 different combinations of musical instruments, sport equipment, pets, electronics, appliances, and more. There were options for dressy, casual, and sporty styles. The doll came in a presentation box featuring a backdrop that customers also chose from a number of options. Finally, kids give her a name and the title is printed on the front of the box.

The last doll is Maisha, made by Malaville!

I have wanted her for a while but the shipping from South Africa is a lot!

The seller made this outfit and she came with this on!
She has a really cute face!
Articulated elbows but not hands.
Three click knees like older Barbie dolls.
Now if they can do a dark articulated body, why can't Mattel give us one? IT dark doll bodies are too rare and too expensive!
She is the same complexion as Fashionista # 90 Rainbow Bright and Princes of South Africa!
I can see she will be sharing her body with all my very dark dolls!
