Becoming Queenie Jenkins!

Hey Gang!

Granny Queenie and her great granddaughter LaToya are having lunch in the park!

Queenie looks up at the sunshine thinks to herself "look at the day the lord has made!"

Just then a handsome young man walks by. Malik: Good afternoon Queen! How are you this fine day?

Queenie: Just fine young man and you?

Malik: I am well Queen! Enjoy the rest of the day and don't forget to hydrate!

Queen thinks to herself "If I were fifty years younger..."'

LaToya: Did you know him Granny?

Queenie: No honey, I don't know him.

LaToya: But he knows your name! He called you Queen!

Queenie: Oh honey, it just a term of endearment!

LaToya: A what?

Queenie: A nickname or a pet name! He probably calls all women or all women my age Queen.

LaToya: Oh! Well I have our lunch! That food cart is great!

The eat their meals.

Queenie: Well that hit the spot!

LaToya: I wonder if she has ice cream today!

LaToya: She makes the best ice cream! At least it is the best I have had!

Queenie: The best ice cream I have ever had was at this Church up the road for the town I grew up in! She smiles as she thinks about the ice cream.

LaToya: Really? Like... you have been around for a long time! It was the best in all your years?

Queenie: I'm 95 years young and it was the best I have had! Those old church sisters could cook! They churned the ice cream by hand in the kitchen of the church! Oh, and fried chicken!

LaToya: They didn't get if from the store?

Queenie: Honey, ice cream in the store ...ice in general is a modern thing! We had and ice box and not a refrigerator when I was a child. And we were considered well off! A man came and we bought a block of ice and put it in the ice box to keep things cold. Those church women used real cream from the top of the milk to make the ice cream.

LaToya: WOW!

Queenie: It tasted sooo much better than anything you can get from the store!

Queenie: You better catch her before she leaves!

Granny Queen!

I have had the idea for Granny Queen for a while. It is her job to keep the family together and grounded. She lives with her granddaughter and her great granddaughter! She also spends time with other granddaughters too. She augments her retirement by tutoring and hand-knitting sweaters that her granddaughter sells them online for her.

How she started! This was a thrift store doll that didn't sell! She has been sitting around for a few years!

She said that she wanted to be Queenie. So...

Keyshia And Some Other Things!

Hey Gang!

So in my last post showed you my Keyshia doll and the second one they sent me!
Since then they sent me a third doll! I don’t know why but they did. I have put
the third doll up on the Dollpage for sale. So if you like what you see,

So where I left off was with my second doll arriving! She too didn’t have sandals or
earrings. I don’t know why but she doesn’t. She also has black flat shoes. That not a
problem for me. I would have rather seen the doll sold in these shoes. Keyshia look
more like a colorful sandal girl to me anyway.

No earrings!

It is a fake!!! Run!!

The Weekend fun doll has a green shirt (it looks like two pieces but it is one) and
jeans with her black shoes.

The jeans are a little bit relaxed for my taste but you know those young kids.

Keyshia is about the size of the new Stacie doll.

So much so that their bodies look surprisingly similar!

WARNING-NUDE DOLLS!

I have wanted a Stacie with articulated arms. This only makes me want one more!

Feet are the same size! This really looks like Stacie's body in brown!

They can fit each others close too!

For V-day I got my self this doll!

I was supposed to go away for the weekend but the snow did us in.

I re-bodied my Jazzie doll!

I wasn’t going to find a Fashionista body her complexion so this body will have to do!

She is jointing a dance team!

Martina has been pestering me for some clothes. She is a real nudge!

Ms. Leo: Happy Now!

Finally, I got a body for the other head that for the re-root that Cyano of
Cyano Dolls & Rerooting did for me! Thanks Again!

Trisha: Excuse me but could I get a skirt that is a little longer!

I painted her eyes. They were purple. Not bad if I must say so myself!

Grail---Kinda!

Hey Gang!

In 2009 when they announced that Sugar's Daddy Ken would be released, I
was excited! He had a great face and interesting clothes.

I was really looking forward to another older male doll. I didn't really want
Silkstone body (which I was told the body would be) but I would have
accepted it.

I was really surprised at the backlash the doll and its name got. I guess I
should have known after the whole Pregnant Happy Family Midge and
Tattoo Barbie thing. When I saw the doll I thought it might be a nod
to Gianni Versace too. Come on that print jacket said Versace to me.

But like many of the Mattel dolls that were deemed too controversial,
the doll disappeared. I don't think it even made it into production.
So when Cyano Dolls & Rerooting blogger offered to do a few
re-roots for me. I knew one of the things I wanted. I wanted a replica of
the Sugar's Daddy doll. I didn't have the Silkstone Ken head sculpt
so I had to go with what I had which was the 1st Fashionista Ken head.

Unfortunately I didn't have the fashionista body too. I purchased
the head on the dollpage. I will have to be on the lookout for an articulated
male body at the thrift store. The Sugar Daddy outfit, though very nice, is
a little to formal for here in Johnston. So I found an outfit a little more useful
for here. I might make one when a get some down time.

So...Here is Maxwell and his dog Q-Tip out for a walk.
