90's Asian Dolls-Mei Ling And Jade Princess Just Girlz Doll!

 Hey Gang!

Mei Ling doll!

China Sprout created Mei Ling specifically with our young customers in mind. There were other Mei Ling dolls.

Kung Fu Master!

Ice Princess!

Each of these 12" vinyl fashion dolls has a poseable body and arms, sparkling brown eyes, and silken black hair. As the Lotus Dancer, Mei Ling enjoys performing beautiful Chinese dances using fans, streamers, and drums. She comes complete with her dance accessories and wears a pink-and-yellow silk dance outfit, finished with a jade-green jacket. Many adventures await your child when she plays with the newest addition to China Sprout's family.

Out of the box!
With the jacket off, you can see the details of her outfit.
As you can see, she has high-heeled feet.
The shoes she came with are for flat feet.  They rubberbanded them onto her high-heeled feet.
With the drums
Fan and streamer!

The doll without clothes!
She has an immatation TNT body.
Bodies, I tried to give her articulation.
I thought about using this body, but she would be a little too tall and wouldn't fit her original outfit.
I decided to go with the Disney Belle body instead. The articulated Disney body has a smaller waist, Bend-N-Click knees, and high-heel feet. Her hair got out of control while I played with her.
She can wear our original outfit and instruct the drummers!
Another doll that came out about the same time is the Jade Princess Just Girlz Doll, an exclusive doll by Kmart/Sears. It was their "Celebrating Diversity doll!"
I purchased her for the dress!  The dress is really beautiful.  The doll was $18 at the time.  More than I had ever expected to pay for an off-brand doll. I found one with a beat-up box, and they marked it down.
I planned on selling the doll! She seemed to just hang around.  Finally, about the time the Liv dolls came out, she wore me down. I think part of my dislike was the light, high-arched eyebrows.
I put her on a Liv doll body!
She is wearing the outfit from the Vietnam War action figure female.

After The Meeting!

 Hey Gang!

This is a follow-up to this post!
https://i-luv-dolls.blogspot.com/2014/02/meeting-orientations-interviews-and_16.html

As part of the meeting with Shannon, Ian, and Terrence, they made up a list of doctors they wanted to offer positions!

The first one was Dr. Eli Agnar!

Eli worked under Terrence and Ian ten years ago and they wouldn't miss an opportunity to have him on staff! Eli is a general practitioner and a statistical wizard. He worked with Ian and Terrence on medical trials and he really shined.  They know that medical trial programs that will be grant-funded will be a big part of what the Johnston Hospital will do!

Next Up is Patrick McDreamy!

Ian worked with Patrick on several presentations for funding, and planned giving! Patrick charmed the pants and skirts off of potential donors! Do you have your checkbook? With Eli and Patrick on board, Johnston Hospital easily got the money needed to refurbish and retrofit the old hospital and add a new wing!

Finally, a big plan to have a Women's and Family Clinic!

Dr. Angela Rizzo ..... OBGYN doctor.

and Dr. Yue Sai Wa Wa will head the Pediatric clinic.

Yue is gifted when it comes to children and she cares!
Ian and Terrence with the first of the new hirers.

What I've Been Up To-- Part Two! Progress On Re-boding!!!

So, since Christmas I have found several articulated bodies for my dolls. Not many African American bodies but articulated bodies that I can use for my non African American dolls. Just after Christmas, my local Supermarkets had many Barbie items for sale. I found two Hunger Game dolls for sale for 7.50 at a local supermarket. That is around the price a want to spend on a articulated donor body.  Less if I can.
I purchase both of them and re-body two of my dolls. I re-bodied my Dr. Yue Sai Wa Wa

and

my Ing with these donor bodies. I kept one of the doll’s outfit and put the rest of the doll’s items and heads up for sale on the Dollpage.

During the Flower Show, the center City K-Mark marked down it‘s Fashionista Summer dolls to 8.00.
I purchased three of them also. I need to add Summer to my collection. She was the only Fashionista with a new head sculpt that I didn't have. I kept the other bodies as a donor.

You might remember from previous posts that I purchased several SIS dolls too!

The Roller Skating and Tennis dolls. I have also purchased and extra Baby Phat Kara and
a Grace as a body donors.

Warning Nude Dolls Ahead!

At my new favorite thrift store I found six articulated bodies and a Power Team guy for fewer than 7.00! That was a real score! First, I found two Disney dolls as I got to the toy section.  I then began to carefully comb the aisle.   I be heading back my next day off!

They were both they newer Rapunzel dolls with the articulated arms.  I got excited.
I am not a big fan of the face but I can always use the body.  I think I like the Mattel face better.

I found these two dolls with the same outfit on.

I don’t know who they are but because both of them have on the same outfit. I am thinking that the outfit is original.

And pretty cute too!
If you know who they are please let me know.

I also found two Fashionista Swapping head dolls too.  I not a fan of the swapping head dolls but at that price I figure that my second string dolls will get a articulated body.  These head will be up for sale too!
I think the first doll is the old Summer. Very few of the dolls that I have purchased form thrift store didn't need hair help.  It is something I accept.
This girl has a heart on her cheek!
One of the great things about thrift store is that you will never know what you might find!  I didn't expect to find a Power Team guy there but there he was!  You know I couldn't leave him there.  I think he is an older model.  His gloves are a different color than of my other PT guys.

He does have a great look in his eyes too!

I haven’t re-bodied any of these dolls. So I told myself that each week I would figure out a doll to get one of the six donor bodies. I will put their heads up for sale on the Dollpage. I sure out that the Dollpage stays up!

I purchased a few other things I will show you later when I have time to take pictures! Never enough time!

OK, Thanks For Looking!!!

Dr. Yue-Sai Wa Wa!

Hey Gang! Thanks For Looking!

Asian Beauty!

The other day, Niel's Doll Room featured this doll. He found her in a thrift store! Lucky guy! She is one of my favorite Asian dolls. The fact that she doesn't have the usual Barbie face is one reason. The
second is that she has long hair. I haven't done a re-root on a doll, so having long hair gives me more styling options, even if I only cut it later. Third, she has a pleasant face. Serene! I am not sure I like all the super-skinny, sideways-looking, pouty-mouth fashion dolls I have seen lately. They don't look happy.....just pissed! They remind me of all the skinny models in magazines. They look like they need some fried chicken, with yams and baked macaroni with cheese to put a real smile on their faces! I'm smiling justthinking about it! :)

Dr. Yue Sai Wa Wa

My doll is different from the one D7ana has on her blog, too. She is dressed in gold. D7ana has hers still in the box! Wow! I have to have two dolls to keep a doll in the box. It is too tempting to have a doll that I can't touch!
Except for the shoes, these are the items she came with... I think. It's hard to remember once you remove a doll from the box.
This guy is her patient. Or... He is a guy.
There is a herbal medicine chest too!
Under her doctor's jacket is this really lovely outfit! It is really pretty in person. Asian brocade material, two-piece green print top, and matching pants with little red bows at the ankle.

I will be taking a Holiday break... So see you sometime next week!
