May Is Disney Month! Live Action Ariel Doll!

Hey Gang!

I was really excited about the Live Action Little Mermaid movie with Halle Bailey. Many little Black were excited also to think that they could be Ariel. 

I was surprised that there was some push back on a black person playing Ariel. I didn't think there was anything about her character that said she had to be white. It is not like the character was of European like Irish or English or something.

As you can see it is a good representation of the actress. 

There is a Disney store version of the doll too but this is one of the new Mattel dolls. Mattel normally does a good celebrity face!

I don't like the molded on top and tail.

I would have liked a cloth top and tail that covered doll legs. The colors on the tail and body are very pretty.

She is in two parts. The Body and the tail.

Without the tail she is shorter than Barbie and the head doesn't seem as oversize( balloon head)

as the old Mattel Disney dolls.

She has a really great face!

So as you might imagine, I am not a fan of a tail only doll. I had to find her an articulated body!

This Extra doll was a good fit. She has the same headsculpt as my Jamie. 

I purchased this doll for the clothes so I don't need the head.

I'm not a Extra fan either but they make good body donors if on the expensive side.

Working on the Project!

Hey Gang!

It way past time we checked back in on the University!  If you have seen the previous post, here is the link!

Darien: I want each group to work on their project separately at home on Google Docs and then work together as a group.

So the class broke into groups to work on their group project. The older students 

gravitated to each other.

Jose: I work a twelve hour day on Tuesday's. I won't be able to meet with you on that day

but any other day will work. 

Lynette: I am good any evening! Keyarah what about you? 

Keyarah: So I work the weekends and weekday. I am only available nights and I have a 

daughter and may need to get a sitter. I will need to know in advance. 

Jose: I have a family too Keyarah, so I know the challanges! The fact they we can do this on Google

Docs will work for me.  I am normally up to 10:30 and up at 5:30.  So I will check for new item before I go to bed and when I wake up!

Jamie: I like doing research!  I will be glad to handle that part of the project. 

Morgan: OK, I really good at writing. Soo if........

Emily-Ann: I think we can make this really interesting!  We can start by brainstorming

ideas!  

Phoebe: That sounds great!  I'll write it all down for now but we can do the rest  of our brainstorming on Docs.

 Darien went around to all the groups to see how they were doing and to answer any questions.

Darien:  It looks like your group is progressing well!

Ms Leo: So gang one of the clubs I belong to is working on Google Docs. It is my first exposure to it.  I am finding it interesting thus far.  I'll let you know how it works for us.

New Purchase From Facebook!

Hey Gang!

I was able to purchase all these hats for $3.00! Woo Hoo! I got 13 hats. You can
only see 12 in the photo.

I first noticed the helmet from Pocahontas John Smith. For some crazy reason, I sold
the helmet that came with my doll! What was I thinking!  A few years later, I realized
that I needed  the costume  complete and need a helmet. The helmet sells for more
than I was willing to pay on Ebay and I was kinda bummed. When I saw the
helmet come up on Facebook, I was stoked!  When they arrived, I saw just
how nice all these hats were!
