Hey Gang!

I want to tell you about a purchases that I made in 2014 but did not
post them.  I will still tell about new stuff but I need to finish the old. 


When I saw this item in the store I went right by it the first time reaching for

something else. It was laying flat so you really didn't notice it.  As I pulled it

out to get what I thought I wanted, I took a look at it. Hmmm, I haven't seen

this before.  It is a store!  What is the scale? Yes, Ms. Leo opened it in the store.
I don't have time to get something home and bring it back.  I need to know now. 
It was a pretty good size.  Okay, what do they want for it... $15.00.
Not to bad! I knew that I need to start Laurent's and didn't know how
I was going to do it.  This kinda fit the bill! 


It is a Crayola Catwalk Creations.  This was never in the doll section or I would
have notice it sooner.  It shows the front of a store.

What did it come with are you asking?   Well here it is!

The set comes with 2 mannequins, 1 clothes rack with 5 hangers, 15 mini
clothes pegs, a fashion boutique complete with 1 summer and 1 winter
backdrop, 2 signs, 12 fabrics, 4 ribbons, 2 stick on gem sheets, 2 rolls of
double-sided tape(you cant bet that) and a sketch book full of templates
and printed mannequins to draw your designs on.  WOW! Where have they
been hiding you!  I have a Liv doll window like MSJ"s Doll Pit (mine is
out of the box so not good for pictures) but it is not like this! So I purchased it!

  

I had looked at a couple of other peoples store to get a feel for what I

wanted to do. If you are not familiar with Shillman's of Flickr you are in

for a treat! He has created his own department store universe on flickr.

I have also love these photos done by Ro of Roville for years too!  I do miss
her older posts and Pink Day!  I wish we could still see those photo stories.

We can't forget this post from City Circlez either!  So can I get to the
level of these, I don't think so but  you must have a dream!






When I set it up, I saw it was a tad smaller that what I wanted. My many view of
My Froggy Stuff videos has taught me just what to do! Add cardboard!

I took a cardboard tray for sodas and covered it with brick from My Froggy Stuff
blog!  I have printed myself several copies so that I could have if for future projects.


The soda box gave me just the right height so that I could have Aya and other dolls
look in the store.

Aya's boots make her kinda tall.  Raising the store worked well.  I have had these
benches for a while.  I hadn't use them for a while so it was time to get them out.
I have one up for sale on the dollpage too!  The trash can is from the Dollar Store.

I used scrap book paper for the floors in the storewindow.  With the printable
rug that I gave out at out first doll clulb meeting.  I have had a store idea in my mind
for some time and have been collecting items for it for a couple of years.  Having
the store will give me a chance, I hope, to use them! Here is a peek from the top!

I have collected enough mannequins to witch out mannequins this post.  I liked

the color better of this for pictures of

I had this brick contact paper I used for the sidewalk.  I really wish I had

purchased more because I can't find it anymore.

When I looked up the item on the web, I found that they made a few items

Opening Soon! Update!

Hey Gang!

Laurent's will be opening soon!  The town is excited!  It is the first
of many new stores to open in this small town.  The outside is almost
finished.  The inside will be finished soon.

So Gang, I am working on the main street in my small town.  There might
be a few incarnations but here is the start.---Laurent's Department Store as
promise a while back.


 Kylie:  What is it Karen?

Karen looks into the store window and is excited!

Karen: Coming Soon! How wonderful! Mommy, they are opening the store soon!

Kylie comes to see!

 All the town is excited and a lot of characters are hanging around.

Aya is also looking in the window!

Aya: I so hope there will be shoes!

Aya looks dreamily through the window and hopes that there will be a
large shoe selection or at least she will be able to order shoes!

 Aya: Boots, sandals, sneakers, pumps....

 Kylie: I see that they look just about finished!

 Karen: They will be opening soon!

Kylie: It is great that they have a bench out here for sitting! Join your mom on the
bench dear!

 Karen: Mom, aren't you excited too!  Don't you want to buy stuff?

Kylie: I will more than likely buy somethings but I plan to save too!  The
new bank will be opening too you know!

 I want to use my money and buy dolls.  Do you think there will be toys there?

Inside the window of the store!

Kylie: Well...there might be but I think it will be mostly clothes and things for
the home.

 You know you can't spend all your money on toys!

 But why not! All I want is toys...oh and maybe some pets!

Kylie: Your father and I expect you to be responsible with your money.  That means
that you can buy some toys from time to time but you must save too!

 Karen: Save for bigger toys!

 Kylie: No, save for your future!  Save for college, save for a car, save for travel
and save for your own home one day!

Karen: Mommy, that seems soo serious and I am only a kid!

Kylie: Oh it is, and you won't always be a child!  Time passes before
you know it! You must learn good habits about saving now!

Karen: OK mommy, I guess we will go to the bank when it opens too!

After all of that I just purchase a few new dolls.  I don' learn from my own
blog!

There are many I's to dot and T's to cross.  KiKi will be hiring staff!
Orders are coming in too!

Laurent’s Formal Wear Boutique

Laurent’s Formal Wear Boutique
Here are the prints from the ad for Laurent’s Formal Wear
Boutique. It is the formal wear shop inside the department
store.


I will show the photo shoot later. Kiki’s public relation
company said she needed more advertisement for the store.
They were surprised and happy to learn that Kiki could
bring in some heavy hitter for the ad.



Kiki made a call to her good friend Dominique. She was just
rapping up her first movie and was flying home.


Dominique said that she might be able to persuade one of
the stars of the movie, Grayson Stone, to do the commercial
with her. They had become good friends while working on the
film.

Grayson Stone-Actor, Philanthropist, new father.


Kiki new that her father-in-law always look very
distinguished in a tux, so she talked him into doing the
commercial too.


Stephan told Grayson all about St. Malcolm's new additions.
Now Grayson plans to take a vacation with with his
wife and family there soon.


The photos came out just like they wanted them to. Oh, and
by the way, Ms. D is wearing the necklace and the fantastic
pumps from Cat under the dress!

I am getting a few new dolly things in, so I will have to make
space by letting a few dolly things go. I will be posting new
things on my sell and trade tab and on my dollpage site
