My Trip To Big Lot

Sorry guys, I've been very busy the last 10 days and have
not had much time to post. I will try and make up for that.
I went to Big Lots hoping for an AA guy or maybe a
Asian but no luck! I did get these.

I hate the gloved hands!

I think I have a pair of extra hands around.




And Her! I don't need the face but I can use the body.
I notice the newer versions of this doll are darker.

Another Thirft Store Find --Can You Believe it!

Thrift Store Find!
I stopped by my favorite thrift store and what did I find?

Yup!

This is why it is my favorite! I could believe she

was there and I could believe the price!

She had her shoes too! Rare for thrift store dolls.

It was a lucky day! I have a lot of dolls with this face

but I have plans for the body. You may know Julia is my

favorite doll. You can get a little bored with the pose

options for the TNT body. That is why I am trying new

things for the head.

I found another item too but I will save that for later.

S.I.S. Julian

Julian-Little S.I.S Friend

I wasn't sure I like this doll when I first saw him

but he was the only young male in the line so I

knew he would find his way into my collection.
He was hard to come by. I had seen him on line but

never in the stores. While in Target what did I see...

Yup! Julian He was the only one there. This means

if you want to think about it and come back....he won't

be there. So I bought him when I saw him. ( I have

learned my lesson.)

One of the reason I was unsure about him was the

body. His face is the Tommy face but this in a new body.

Mattel has been play around with the faces and the bodies of

the Kelly size dolls. A few years ago they had a really wide face.

and now it time to play around with the body I guess. The longer/shorter

leg and torso and bigger head thing doesn't work for me. Belly bottom waist,

segmented arms and legs....hit! The rest...miss.



He is not the size of Tommy or the size of Todd. ( the next size

doll up) This means clothes are an issue. Especially if you don't

like what he is wearing. I was not feeling his shirt!

I didn't like the colors. I will do something about it but I'm

not quite sure what. White is always the

best first try.

Fellas plus Todd. You can obviously see his arms

and legs are longer than the Tommy/Ryan and Olmec dolls.

He is too small for Todd clothes.

Hey Gang!

When I first saw the Rocawear Chandra I loved the outfit. I thought her face and  complexion were great but I didn't like the eyes. I hate the side glancing eyes.  I think they make the doll look sneaky or like she thinks that there is someone  behind her. Those eye have put me off from purchasing many dolls. After several  years of trying to slightly alter eyes on dolls, I decided to repaint the eyes on this doll.  I wanted her to look ahead. This is one of my first real repaint of eyes. So please be  kind! I thought that black eye were better with her complexion too. I am not very  good a photographing the darker complexion dolls. I am not sure if it is the light  I need to work on or the backroung or maybe it is both! I have seen others do a  better job than me. I have had trouble with Princess of South Africa and Model  of the Moment Nichelle too! Truthfully, I wasn't good at taken pictures before  the digital camera. I have gotten better with the digital camera but I am still  working on my photos.
