More Summer Doll Clones!

 Hey Gang!

The second most popular clone head sculpt is the Summer head sculpt. The first is the 

CEO/Generation Girl. Here is my new clone doll, City Cyclin', who has the Summer head sculpt.

There is a lot in the box. Not bad for $7.99.

The outfit isn't bad either.

There is a bicycle helmet.

It is not a bad bike. It may get painted.

The kickstand goes up!

Not the best cat, but not the worst.  A repaint could make a difference.

Out of her clothes, the body isn't the best.

She has the slender legs characteristic of most clone dolls.

This is one of the Summer doll head sculpts. This is the darkest complexion I've seen used for the sculpture.

There is also an imperfection on the neck. I plan on reboding her so it is no big deal.

The hair is not as thin as that of many clone dolls.

I will be using the #1 body for this doll. 

This body can be used for many of the darker bodies.

This body can also be used for Malibu Christie!

It is not a perfect match, but it will do!

Rebodied!

Now she can ride the bike. She will be called April.

Next up!

Black Skin Curly Hair Doll—Play 66 Sports Collection. I purchased her from Temu for about $4.50. She already comes articulated, so I didn't have to give her a new body. Or so I thought!

She has the Summer 2011 head sculpt, which is used more often than the many other Summer sculpts.

I love this hair look, but sadly, it is primarily rooted in the hairline.

When I saw her nude (you may not be able to tell from my photo), her body was darker than her head.  I had a few of the medium brown bodies. So she was rebodied!

So here is Nia! Nia is a nursing assistant.

Summer and Summer clone doll that I call Zuri.

I redodied Zuri onto one of the clone articulated bodies. Zuri will work as a teacher's assistant while completing her teaching degree. She will work at the school where her children attend. She is dropping them off.

More Bodies From China And Clones!

 Hey Gang!

In a previous post, I talked about bodies from China, but I only spoke about girl bodies. There are also male bodies. They have short necks, and most don't have torsos that articulate like Fashionista and The Look dolls. Here are doll bodies, but you can look for action figure bodies!

Most have articulated elbows, wrists, and knees, but a few also turn at the waist.

This body is used for the AA clones dolls like the one below. So, let's take a look at some clones!

First up!

I'm calling him this guy because these dolls aren't listed with a name. He is a clone of Fashionista Ken # 130. Maybe he should be called faux #130. 

He is available in a rooted version or with molded braids like those shown above.

Black and...

White/very light versions who doesn't come with an articulated body.  I have purchased a few loose bodies and gave him one.

Next up is... 

The clone of Romeo from the Romeo and Juliet set. 

As you can tell, it is not a bad copy.

I wanted to put my BTS RM doll on a taller body because he is the tallest member ot the group. I found this 30cm body on a few of the Chinese sites.

The Year Of The Clones And Off Brand Dolls!

 Hey Gang!

This year is the Year Of The Clones! Oh, and Off Brand dolls

Over the years, I have purchased many clone and off-brand dolls, which will be featured this year!

My clone dolls will get storylines and personalities this year, and they will get more blog time! I also hope to get a few more clone dolls this year. 

One key way I feature my clone dolls is on the FB page Cone Fashion Doll Collectors! This page is for collectors of clones/copycats of Barbies and off-brand dolls from 5&10 to dollar stores. It lets you share your dolls and information on these dolls. I suggest you make your way over and enjoy it.

As I readied for this year, I started by ordering clone Fashionista articulated bodies from AliExpress in dark brown, medium brown, and light brown.

This will allow me to articulate my clones/off-brand dolls and make them more fun to Play with! These bodies have similar articulation to the old Fashionista Barbie doll but don't have the up and down neck articulation. They aren't as well made as the original Fashionista doll bodies but they will work for me now.  The numbers are darkest to the lightest body #1 is close to SIS Chandra,#2 is more like Kara,#3 is more like Grace,#4 is like Trichelle or Atsry Fashionista, and #5 I can't figure out what head would match. 

My first doll to get a new body was Britta, which I purchased from a local 5&10 store in 2012.

Next up

Next up is Lovely Patsy My Chic Collection which also was purchased in 2012. I got these dolls from Family Dollar or Family General. I got them after Christmas and she was half-price. I purchased the dolls for the outfits. One complete doll was donated and I keep the heads from the other two. I have been playing around with them for years with no firm decision. These dolls and the doll above are both clones of CEO/My Generation Barbie. The doll above is the better version.

I got this Vicky by Excite doll at the Family Dollar store in 2003. She comes in a 

Caucasian and an AA version, and I have purchased both.

The first doll I call Britta and the Patsy. Here they are on the #2 body. 

Vicki is a now Veronica. She is what Debbie of Black Dolls Enthusiast would call a competitor.

Also, if you can find this body tone on the net, you can purchase the Glam Squad AA doll from Five and Below. She has about the same skin tone.
