Have You Ever Bought A Doll Just For The Head?

Hey Gang!

Have you ever bought a  doll just for the head? I know I have! So this time I just bought the head.

I have been wanting the 2015 Prince Naveen Classic doll the but there hasn't been a Disney store locally for a while and the eBay price for him is ridiculous. I know, I do have two other of the Naveen dolls in my collection. The Mattel and the first Disney store doll but not the 2015. I have even seen him modified on Instagram. I thought WOW! That's what I want to to! So when I found a head for under $5.00, I had to get it! And wait for it...I got a $4.00 coupon which meant I only spent $1.65. Woo Hoo!

I had a Flynn Rider body that I wan't using because I put Flynn(Gavin) on another body. It isn't a perfect match but it will do for now.

Disney Males and Video of the Month

Hey Gang!

Mattel doesn't do many male face sculptures all at once. As a matter of fact,
there are currently more male face sculptures in all Mattel's lines now than
ever. Right now in their Barbie playline ( not including Gamer) there is one
Ken face sculpture (some with different hair), two AA face sculptures
(one an old and one new), and one the have not given a background.

In contrast because of movie merchandising, Disney has always had more
and different head sculptures released at the same time. There is normally
a male character for each female lead character.

In the beginning of my doll collecting, the of the first males
I purchased was not Mattel Ken but a Disney male by Mattel.

Yes this guy Kocoum.  On a new body and named Bison Most of the first Disney
male doll available in toy store were made by Mattel for Disney back then.  He is still
my favorite but he does have some competition!

And in the beginning, I was skeptical of Disney dolls especially the one not made
by Mattel!  I didn't really like them. I thought their heads were too big and their eyes
were too cartoonish!  Yep, Disney had balloon head dolls before Mattel did them.
Disney Bell

 Mattel Fashion Fever

I didn't think Kocoum was made that way!  His head is not so large and maybe because
he was a serious character, he doesn't look so cartoonish! Mattel with Disney has done one
of the few Native American male doll or indigenous male dolls....

I have slowly been worn down! I guess it started with Li Shang and Naveen.  There
are just so few male fashion dolls and fewer ethic male dolls that I add Disney males
to expand my collection.  I hate having single female dolls around.  They seem lonely.

Li Shang
Disney store and Mattel side by side.
Naveens!
Disney and Mattel.
I even purchased a new Li Shang with molded hair.  I will make him a brother.

After purchasing the Mattel version of these male dolls, I started looking at
the Disney store versions and purchased them too!  Mattel only came out with one Asian!
Thank goodness there have been AA Ken/Stevens and others.

I have added Lucas to my collection!  Yes, that is the name that I have given him.

He is Disney Prince Philip!
I might change his body but not right now!

I might want to do what pseudanoymous did from Flickr did body wise but I really
have plans to do what he did to Flynn Rider hair.  For now I only have the doll!

I also purchase a Frozen Kristoff.

The doll they sold in the stores had the molded on clothes but the eye looked
forward. The Disney store doll had clothes you could take off but it was side
glancing.  As you might know, side glancing is not my favorite!  I got both at
thrift stores thinking the heads would be interchangeable but they were not the
same complexion nor do that have the same neck knob.

I have come across many Captain Phoebus doll!

They make great body donors for darker complexion 70's, 80's and 90's.
I has used him for Kocoum.  He is a good match but I like the liker AA
body for him even better.
I decided to give him a repaint and make him a Native American.  His facial
features work to me. The hair and the eye color were wrong though.
Cheveyo!
He was asked by Running Bear to preform the Cleansing Ceremony for  the longhouse.

Head Swaps For 2015!

Hey Gang!

So here are some of the last of my rebodied dolls for 2015.  I am trying to rebody
all the dolls I use regularly. It makes it easier for blogging, photos and dios. I got a
bunch of bodies from the thrift store in September and had to hind them when I got
home.  I took me quite a while to remember I had them and to remember where I
hid them.

Last year I rebodied my Mattel Prince Naveen doll, known in my dollie world as
Rahim Reeves, onto a body that had three click knees.  That was good but it wasn’t the best.
He is now rebodied on to a Happy Family father doll.  He can now bend at the
knee and bend at the elbow and twist at the waist. His job will be as a
Pharmaceutical Sales Representative. He is wearing the Donald Trump suit.
I also have a Hannah Montana Lola doll.  Lola, known in my dollie world as
Phoebe, is on a Hannah Montana Stylin ‘ Fashion doll body.
The new body has arms that bend at the elbow and three click knees. She is
one of my college girls.  She loves color and she is a bit of a free spirit too!
My Princess Kida doll, known in my dollie world as Vikki, has been or her
original body since I got her.  I have been able to cover up the medallion
with a top but that is not what I really wanted.  I love her long white/gray
hair.  Long gray hair is unusual.  Many people with gray hair cut it but she
will keep her's long!

I have painted her eyes and now rebodied her onto a Fashionista Artsy body.
Full body shot!
I will feature her later as one of my Gray Foxes but not now!
I have had a Taylor Swift doll for a long time but haven’t decided if I wanted
to sell her or not.  I don’t really think she looks like the artist. I liked her face
but didn’t like the body.  She had one of the Hannah Montana style bodies with
non bendable arms that sung. Nothing is worst than hearing one of those singing
dolls go off at 3:00 am!  Anyway, She will now be known in my dollie world
as Marilyn.
The eyelashes make her look Marilyn Monroe-ish.  She is on a Disney store
Rapunzel body.  She will be one of my college girls.
Another doll that I have had for reboding for a while is New York Minute
Ashley doll. She this doll has a different face that the older Mary Kate and
Ashley dolls.  I will have to post on that so you can see.
She is also on a Rapunzel body. Her name  is Alli and will be a high
school girl.
My extra Disney store Tiana bodies when to my Francie.
She has been on a Liv doll body. It wasn't a good match but was articulated
This new body is much better!
and Teen Skipper Nikki dolls.
Disney Store Classic Tiana 2014
I have tried to remove the necklace. It smeared.  I will try it again.
It should come off.
The complexion is a good match.
Lastly, My extra Fashionista Artsty body went to older model Pocahontas doll.
She received her new body and a hair cut.  Her name is Anita

Friends For Naveen!

Hey Gang!

So after my Disney Naveen purchase, I thought he could use some company!
so I added a few other doll of Indian background to my collection.
I added the new Aladdin from Disney! I have named him Amar Khan.  Only
his mom and dad call him Amar.  Everyone else calls him Khan.  I thought
they looked like that would be friends. He has a great smile too! I thought
that they would be the same complexion but Naveen is darker.

They are some of my college student in Johnston and love hanging out and
having fun.

I love the older Mattel Jasmine doll's face the best.  My only problems with
the older Jasmine dolls is the earring made into the body.  When I found
this one (Holiday Princess Jasmine doll that wasn't like that I had to have
her.  She Is Indira!

She is sporting a combination of clothing to give her the look that I wanted.
Skirt and sweater are Mattel, top and shoes are Liv.

I tried adding a gold dot to the side of her nose as a nose ring.  You can't see
it to well in this picture.

Together!

Who Gets To Be Millie?

Hey Gang!

So the doll is going to play Millie....?
Here is the answer!

The doll in the white dress! There were move votes for her!  I'm
not sure if I will keep or sell the other doll.

She and Rahim(Naveen) will be a couple!

This Naveen is the Mattel version of the doll.  You might remember me
saying that I like this one the best.
I got him as part of a set.  I gave the Tiana away to my little cousin but as you
might know you can have too many ethnic men. This doll doesn't have the
bend/click knees of many Mattel dolls so I put his head new body.  I hope to
find him an articulated one.
But after watching so many My Froggy Stuff videos, the Disney version of the
doll started to grow on me! So when Disney had a half price sale on their doll
I purchase him along with some other dolls.

He looks younger and more like a teen that my other Naveen.
So he will get to keep his name!
His body is a little thicker and he has articulation at the elbows too!
His feet are a little wider than Mattel Ken size dolls but I can easily find
shoes to fit him.
He will be from India!  I always hear the Froggy Stuff voice when I look at
him.
Here he is next the Mattel doll. They look quite different.
So much so that there isn't a need to make them related.
If you read this post anywhere
other I-Luv-Dolls@blogspot.com
It is a fake!!! Run!!
The Mattel doll has highlighted paint color in his molded hair.
Their profile is different also. They both have a larger head but the Disney
head is larger.

Oh, while we are on Disney, this is the doll we are to restyle for our next doll Club
meeting. She is Snow White.

I will show you pictures from the meet!
