Test Shots!

 Hey Gang!

Every year I put a holiday display at the top of the stairs. There is a table there and I feel obliged to fill it, especially during the holidays. 

I purchased two new deer from Target. I like them because of their size. 

They were $10.00, which is cheaper than Byers Choice LTD. They sell holiday carolers that are twelve inches high.  They also have nice diorama pieces for them which are great for Barbie. 

The Byers Choice Reindeer are $28.00 and not as tall. The one Stand is about 10 inches. 

The Target deer antlers are red and they should be brown. I'll need to paint them. From the test shots, I can tell that they are a problem.

So here is the test shot of the deer.

I used the backdrop I got from Walmart several Christmases ago for free after the season was over.

It gets plenty of use. I need better lighting, though. It has a yellow cast. Trees also need to be added to give it more of a 3D effect.  I am trying to decide if the greenery needs to go too!

Measurements: The Target deer is about 13 inches to the top of the antlers.

Caribou is about 12 inches to the top of the antlers.

Byer's Deer is about 8 1/2 inches to the top of the antlers. I will post the final photos on Christmas.

Holiday Ornaments! Sweaters And More!

 Hey Gang!

I was able to purchase only one holiday ornament sweater from the Target store! My local only had the white sweater with the gold tree on it.

I don't think it is as nice as the one from last year!  I really wanted some of there others that were available.

I was able to get a few ornament sweaters from Kohl's. I think some of these might be pride sweaters because they all have rainbows on them or are rainbow-knit.

The back of them is plain. So you can wear them backward if you want.

They are smaller than the sweaters from last year.

They are smaller than the sweaters from Target.

They seem a better fit for a teen like Skipper or Stacie.

I had to purchase the Target ornament sweaters on eBay!😒I don't want to say what I paid.

I just noticed that there is a theme with the colored sweaters!

 Hey Gang,

I wanted to show you what I got at Target that I plan to use for my dolls!

Jackets and 

You can open it with a blow dryer. It has a great hanger too. The skis can be used as decoration!

I need to get some of the glue residue off the jacket.  I used a pencil to help open the sleeves.

I would put plastic over the hands so that they don't snag the jacket when putting it on.

Animal stuffed pillows ornaments! I purchased pillows a few years back but I didn't get all the ones that I wanted and they were sold out when I can back.  I got these this year.

These Christmas ornament ball may not be 1/6 but I think I can use them!

Christmas Sweaters and Coats, Vests and Hat!

Hey Gang!

So this time of year besides dolls, there are a lot of doll size items out there
that you can find for your dolls!  Some are the perfect scale for 1/6 dolls
and some are a little small or large for these doll.  But if you are like me,
you will make it work for you dolls!

First up, Christmas sweaters ornaments!

I love Christmas sweaters. They are the easiest to find and one of the most popular
items out there.  I got mine at Target!   This is my third year and Target seem to do
them each year. I didn't not get all of the offering for this year but I got what was there. 
In past years that have had a larger stock of them.  This year there weren't as much
there and I was luck to get what I have!


Here is what I got.  Doll photos in them to follow.

This years selection was better than other years And they didn't

go on sale before Christmas this year. Boo!

Barbie sweaters normally cost more than the $3.00 for these sweater.

A lot more glue gun glue in the decorations of these sweaters but

still nice! That is one thing you look for.  You don't want sweaters that

are glued together and not sewn.  Things glues on is OK but you

don't want them all glue.

Some of the decoration are missing from this one  because it was glued but I can add replacements!

There was also a Jacket and hat this year! Thanks to dbg of BDE I found out

that there was a hat to match the jacket. This was new! I like the set. 

I don't like the wooden buttons on them. They give it more of a toy store look to

the items.  The hat is large.  Too large for most dolls.  It will have to be altered.

The buttons will have to be replace maybe with something black.

Michael's

Michael had jackets, hats and vest.  I just purchased the jackets and vest. The hats were

large like the one at Target...too big. 

I have seen many of these on Facebook so I knew what they had to offer.

The beige and plaid jackets are reversed one has the plaid vest and the other
has the beige suede vest.

What I do find in looking at ornament sweaters and other ornament 

that can be used for clothes is that some are made larger than others. 

So, look through them! Note that the green and white Target sweater is smaller 

than the other sweaters. (better for small dolls and children) The vest  from 

Micheal's will work for Ken and IT males. It is harder to find coats and these were a 

great purchase! I did get them on sale.  The were only 30 cents less that the Target

 $3 sweaters.Over all!  I like what I got and will show them on dolls soon!

More Frugal Finds!

Hey Gang,

So here are some other things that I have found while out and about!  Some work well
for dioramas and others are just a little off.  It really helps if you can bring one of your
dolly friends with you for scale!

So here are my finds from Target!  

This cute little bear for the near by woods of my dolly town! You can ditch the
scarf!

More woodland creatures!  I think I have one of these already.  I will have to look
in my woodland creature box!

I did purchase some deer last year but I think I might need a few more.

Cute spots too!

I think they might work well as art pieces! 

On a shelf or desk!

More art.  This will work well for the lodge too!

Items for the woods!

Paint over the Merry Christmas and it can be used for dolls!

I found these two!  The small one could be a toy and the 

big one could be decoration for a kids room!

Now for the Dollar Store.

OK, if you have a park or a woods like I do or you just need some greens!  These at the
dollar store work well!

 They are a little shinier than I like and not as full as I would like but for $1.00
you can't beat them! As an outside tree or a dolly Christmas tree!

 Just remove the glitter and add them to your band!

Meanwhile back at Walmart!
They have added a few more things! Need a rocking horse or a child's chair?

 Remove the extra doodads and there you go!

Now some of these items I've shown you will still be there after Christmas and some won't!
You will need to go to your local store and see how much they have.  I say "buy now only
what you think won't be there after the holidays!"   Get as many sales as you can!
