Opening Soon! Update!

Hey Gang!

Laurent's will be opening soon!  The town is excited!  It is the first
of many new stores to open in this small town.  The outside is almost
finished.  The inside will be finished soon.

So Gang, I am working on the main street in my small town.  There might
be a few incarnations but here is the start.---Laurent's Department Store as
promise a while back.

 Kylie:  What is it Karen?
Karen looks into the store window and is excited!

Karen: Coming Soon! How wonderful! Mommy, they are opening the store soon!

Kylie comes to see!

All the town is excited and a lot of characters are hanging around.
Aya is also looking in the window!
Aya: I so hope there will be shoes!
Aya looks dreamily through the window and hopes that there will be a
large shoe selection or at least she will be able to order shoes!
 Aya: Boots, sandals, sneakers, pumps....
Kylie: I see that they look just about finished!
Karen: They will be opening soon!
If you read this post anywhere other

It is a fake!!! Run!!
Kylie: It is great that they have a bench out here for sitting! Join your mom on the
bench dear!
Karen: Mom, aren't you excited too!  Don't you want to buy stuff?
Kylie: I will more than likely buy somethings but I plan to save too!  The
new bank will be opening too you know!
I want to use my money and buy dolls.  Do you think there will be toys there?

Inside the window of the store!
Kylie: Well...there might be but I think it will be mostly clothes and things for
the home.
You know you can't spend all your money on toys!
But why not! All I want is toys...oh and maybe some pets!
Kylie: Your father and I expect you to be responsible with your money.  That means
that you can buy some toys from time to time but you must save too!
 Karen: Save for bigger toys!
Kylie: No, save for your future!  Save for college, save for a car, save for travel
and save for your own home one day!
Karen: Mommy, that seems soo serious and I am only a kid!

Kylie: Oh it is, and you won't always be a child!  Time passes before
you know it! You must learn good habits about saving now!

Karen: OK mommy, I guess we will go to the bank when it opens too!

After all of that I just purchase a few new dolls.  I don' learn from my own
blog!

There are many I's to dot and T's to cross.  KiKi will be hiring staff!
Orders are coming in too!

Update!  Many have asked so here is the link to Aya's first post!

Doll Club Meeting!

Hey Gang!

We had our doll club meeting.  It was informal but it was great fun!
We met in a local recreation center in their small art room.  I setup a
table were we could put our items and we used the side table for
refreshments (coffee and donuts).  We did a show and tell, some trades
and give-a-ways and internet and web news and sites info.

Cindy of Cyndy Bee's was there. Sadly I didn't get a photo of Dana, the dolls
she had for show and tell or any pictures of myself.  I guess I was having
too much fun.  I'll do better next time.

She is the image of Southern Graciousness!
She had with her a doll case that her husband made for her dolls. Is this
wonderful!
She has felt feet/stoppers on the bottom of the draws and the inside of the case.
Isn't that a nice touch.
The bar for hanging clothes is even a presure rod so that it can be moved.
I love her black and white details on the case.

I decided to show a few of my rebodied dolls, IKEA dollhouse, and
some thrift store finds.

First up are my rebodies dolls Max and Marie.  I showed them here with
their donor body precipitants.   The IKEA house made a nice backdrop
for them.

Next is the house itself.  I first saw it on Vanessa's blog.  I paid
about 8.00 for mine but you can find it online at their site for less
If you read this post anywhere other than

It is a fake!!! Run!!

Here is the outside of the house.

One of the inside rooms.

I went out to a few thrift stores looking to clothing to put on my Max
and Marie but I didn't see anything for them.  I found plenty of other things.
I found this Vespar for my Momoko doll Martina.  She has been bugging me
about having a ride.  I thought other would like to see it so it came along
for show and tell.

I have a barbie knitting book I thought others would like to take a look at.

There are some really great patterns inside.
Barbie Skating outfits.
Sweater Coats!  I just love sweater coats.
Maybe one day I will make some of this stuff.
Marvin came along for show and tell also.  Since you don't see many
JLS dolls I thought he would be good for show and tell.
After reading Roxanne's Dolls blog on him, I knew everyone would
want...a better look at him.

I purchase a island from Blinky Dolls Boutique that I also had for show and tell.
The detail on this piece is incredible.  It the best doll related item I
currently own. The plate you see there is just some of the wonderful goodies
that came with my order.

Next is my Pretty Girls doll Lena!

I am so glad that I purchase her.  She my new favorite.
Here she is in the box.  Between the time I opened the box and the meeting
I lost her shoes and she had to wear Jakks shoes to the meeting.  It is good
to know that she can do it.
We tried some Lena clothing on this Mixis doll that Dana had there.
She can fit it!  Lena wiill need a few more clothing items, so it is good
to know a few scources.

The Gang notice a box that was a gift to me from Cyndee Bee.

They want to know what is in it and are guessing.

You get to see the things I got at the meeting in the next post.

I Finally Got Them!

Hey Gang!

I finally got the Barbie Sister Twins Max and Marie!

I wasn't looking for them I was hoping to find some Fashionista donor bodies. But there they were ... on the baeck of the shelf. I think someone might have hid them.  Their Mine now!

BTW, I have had some problems with blogger and that is why the font isn't uniformed.

I don't often wait until I have time to take pictures to open the box but I did this time.
So here they are in the box.
Max
Marie

They both come with pets.  Marie's has a pink bow...

...and Max’s has a turquoise bow and glasses. So who’s bright
idea was it to give the dog glasses?  They should have just
given that money to me!

Here is the back of the box. It doesn’t have them pictured. I find that strange.

Out of the box and without glare.  These dolls are very cute.
I like Max’s outfit the best even with the pink tie.

Marie's outfit isn’t special but it is nice.

I thought that they would be the size of the new Stacie but that are
closer to the size of the 1990 Stacie dolls.

Here is Max with Janet.  I hope they do AA dolls too!

The Nitty Gritty!

Nude Pictures!

Here is Marie out of her dress. Both she and Max have the same
body with different arms bent.

The body style of Max and Marie is that of the new Stacie just shorter.

All three together

Compared to the older Stacie, they are thinner.  I guess this will cause
some to comment on that.  They aren’t as tanned as the older dolls too.
Unlike the new and old Stacie dolls, Max and Marie can only lift
their arms forward and backward. They can lift the arms to the side.
Bummer.

The can spread their legs which the older doll could not.
Their feet are thinner that the older Stacie too.  Shoe swapping will be
difficult.

Her feet are the same size as the new Stacie.  This is good but strange.

Here is the hand.

Max and Marie have textured panties but they don’t have their names
on the back like the new Chelsea and Stacie dolls.

Max and Marie’s head is small that the older dolls too. Here is Max
pictured with Todd size Micheal Mary Poppins!
Some collectors have hoped to make Max and older brother for some of Mattel’s smaller dolls. I thought I take some picture of them together to get a feel.

He works well as Tommy's older brother.

It is a fake!!! Run!!

This is my Maddox. His hair is a light blonde too so he could be his older brother.
Max’s hair is a lot lighter that my Hunter.  I personally might not put them
together.   Note that Max's hair gets a little messy from the glasses sliding.

In sharing the older Stacie clothes, they will fit a lot loser on the twins.
Finding them new outfits might be a challenge.
Mattel hasn’t been known to come out with new outfits for any of the
smaller dolls.   I haven’t seen fashion packs for the SIS dolls even.

Besides Max and Marie’s feet being the same size there head is about the same size too!  This gave me and idea.

I have some extra Stacie bodies I was going to sell but maybe not.

Head Swap Time!

I put Max’s head on a Stacie body!  I kinda like it and I put Marie’s head on one too!

I only had one straight arm doll but I’ll be looking for more.
What to do with the twins bodies?

I gave Hunter a new body. I’ll save the other body for another day.

Ok! Thanks For Looking!
