On The Craft Table! Head Swaps!

 Hey Gang!

I''ve finished my first projects from the craft table and am moving on to more projects.  Stating with a few more head swaps.

AA Fashionista Ken #130

AA Fashionista Ken #130 who looks similar to AA Fashionista Ken Classic Cool.

Where there are a few articulated bodies out ther close to Classic Cool's complexion there aren't any bodies by Mattel that are articulated close to #130 complexion. So I had to order a IT 1.0 Nubian skin tone articulated body for him.

I saw a few post on FB that they rebodied Fashionista Ken #130  with the Nubian body and it seemed to be a good match.  Once I got the body, I cand see that it is.

He is taller but the body really works. I used differnt pants because loner legs need longer shorts.
Close up! He makes a great college age guy.

I found a Ginny Weasley for $9.99 nude! What I wanted was the head and not the girl Harry Potter doll body, so that worked.

Harry Potter girl doll body. I nver new why they used that body and not a body that they already had in production.
Ginny is anothe canidate for a Clara 4 Realms body! Here she is on that body. I think she looks better and can interact with Skipper size dolls without looking wierd. She might get a new hairstyle.

It time to work on at least one of the heads that I got from AliExpress!
I found a Disney male body in a box of dolls at a flea market. The owner gave a good price because she couldn't find the head.
It isn't the best match but it will do. I am thinking about changing the eyebrow and the scruf on the chin.

I also found a older Skipper Babysitters Inc. doll in that box.
I think she is this one.
She is not the right tone for a Clara Four Realms body. I rebodied her on a Creable World Asian doll body.  The Creable World body give her articulation.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

On The Craft Table! Craft Table Month!

 Hey Gang!

The craft table is where I prep for dioramas. I think about what I need to flesh them out and hope to make what I don't have to do it. I realized that I have a lot of projects! So I needed a Craft Table Month.

On the craft table first is a few quick fixes!

I have these sombreros for Walmart.

I used them for Carlos and his brothers in their mariachi band.

Nice and cheap enough at about $1.00 for 4 hats but the trouble is the print is only on one side!

So I purchase a second set of hats hoping to give them a better look by duplicating the print on the underside.  Inside the crown of the hat I want to be black. I thought about painting it but the cardboard minght warp. Felt might change the size of the hat.  I am hoping to glue black paper inside the crown and then glue the same pattern brim to the underside of the hat.
I remove the brim from the dup.
I need to line up the holes from the elastic so that I can restring it later.
Once I put in the black paper for the brim, I will then glue the second brim into place.

The finished hat!

When I purchased new outfits for KiKi, I realized dthat she needed necklaces to go along with this outftis.

I made this necklaces to go along with her outfits but they can be used for other dolls too.
My beads
Turquoise necklace
Garnet necklace
The red works well with the outfit.
June and Nakoma in the necklaces!

Next up is a  few head swaps!

First up for a head swap is BTS RM (Kim)

He is the tallest member of the group but all the dolls are the same hight so I wanted to go for a taller body for RM..
I got a taller body from AliExpress. The body has a smaller neck than Ken dolls and work well for pale dolls with small necks like BTS. This is Kim! He is an artist and love painting walls in his graffiti style.
I redressed him out of the suit into this casual outfit.
The difference in the height of the bodies.
I like this body's hands better too.
I have two V dolls. The original wiht pink and blonde hair which I've kept on the original body.
and this Prestige Doll one with all pink hair.
Closeup.
I love him with the one tone hair.
I put on a BRM Man Bun Ken body.
I admit I have stuggled with the colored hair of the BTS dolls and how to style them. I watched a few of their videos and I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm sure they paid good money to be styled and I should take advantage of the styles that they used.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Disney Month Aladdin doll and on the craft table !

 Hey Gang!

I found a Disney Aladdin doll in the thrift store a long time ago but have not played with him.    He was the Mattel doll that was release in 1992 like the doll below.

This doll came with two outfits one as the street urchin and the other as the prince.
The doll I have was wearing the street urchin pants with the patch on it but the vest
was missing.
he has a cute face with large brown eyes and a slight smirk.
His body is that of the Ken dolls of that time period with the click knees and the backward facing hands. He looks like a Vivek so that will be his name.
I had seen him in the stores and thrift store for a long time but the molded on hat
was a sticking point.
The hat is molded on to the hair of the doll.  The hat comes in several colors depending on the doll and even the doll in the swim suit had the hat! Now who would go swimming with a hat on?

He is now on the craft table!

On a bold moment I decided that the hat had to go! I use a heated box cutter to remove it!

I had to put this in.  It is one of my favorite plays and I was humming this while working!

I have a ton of those big head Liv Doll laying around and I used the hat as a guide and I cut out a hole the size of the hat from the Liv doll head.
I use crazy glue to seal it and did some light smoothing with rubber cement.  I will work on it more a little later but I am happy to be done with that hat.

Next up is the Disney store Aladdin Doll which I purchase new because he didn't have the hat molded to the hair

He has the normally Disney pre-Hasbro body with click knees and bendable elbows.

He is now Khan in the dolliverse

I also found this version of Aladdin in the thrift store too!

I purchased him because of his body and not because of his face.
His face looks pinched and the face is strange with a weird look to it. It too had the hat
made onto the head.
The body is articulated and I hope to be able to use it on a doll in the future.
