Hey Gang!

I took this tour years ago but  I'm glad they have the YouTube experience so you can see it. You can also take this tour in person. They are located at 4355 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA In Bucks County. It is something great to do during the holidays for you and your family. They have great gardens to tour in the summer. Sometimes they host special programs too!

Test Shots!

 Hey Gang!

Every year I put a holiday display at the top of the stairs. There is a table there and I feel obliged to fill it, especially during the holidays.

I purchased two new deer from Target. I like them because of their size.

They were $10.00, which is cheaper than Byers Choice LTD. They sell holiday carolers that are twelve inches high.  They also have nice diorama pieces for them which are great for Barbie.
The Byers Choice Reindeer are $28.00 and not as tall. The one Stand is about 10 inches.

The Target deer antlers are red and they should be brown. I'll need to paint them. From the test shots, I can tell that they are a problem.

So here is the test shot of the deer.

I used the backdrop I got from Walmart several Christmases ago for free after the season was over.
It gets plenty of use. I need better lighting, though. It has a yellow cast. Trees also need to be added to give it more of a 3D effect.  I am trying to decide if the greenery needs to go too!

More Photos.
Byer's Deer, Target Deer, and Byer's Caribou (reindeer)!
Measurements: The Target deer is about 13 inches to the top of the antlers.
Caribou is about 12 inches to the top of the antlers.

Byer's Deer is about 8 1/2 inches to the top of the antlers. I will post the final photos on Christmas.

Fences! On The Craft Table!

 Hey Gang!

One of the things that can be used in a outdoor diorama is a fence.  It can add a lot of detail and can be used to add distance in a scene.

This fence is one I purchased from Byers' Choice LTD. It is a nice fence.

I used it like this! See it behind the doll in this photo.
You can makes some nice fencing for a lot less than I paid for this fence. ($38.00)
One thing that makes a great fence is edging from the Dollar Tree or Dollar General!
One thing that you are looking for is scale!
Before!
This might mean bringing your doll along for measurement..  This is a good scale if the stakes are shorten.
After!
It looks like a wrought iron fence for a very fance location.
The same can be said for the color plastic edgilng.
Before!
After!
Before!
After!
Here is how I used it!
It was used in the background for the vechile scene for the Farm Show!
I need to continue that dio!
You can also use wrapping paper or contact and printed brick paper to make a fence/wall too.
By attaching it to cardboard it can become a fence or wall like this!
Or this! Brick print with a edge
Now, I found this fence at the thrift store! It is anothe place that you can overlook for diorama fences.
Last but not least, find some sticks and glue them together to make a fence.
That I used here.

Byers" Choice LTD. The Caroler Chronicle Has Arrived!

Hey Gang!

I just got my new Caroler Chronicle catalog in the mail.

I first saw these items in a Hallmark store near me that closed four years
ago! I had seen many of the items on blogs but didn't know that they were
sold locally.  I also didn't know that their museum and factory was
close by!

They are located in Chalfont, PA, which is about 45 minutes from
Northwest Phila.

You can tour the museum and there are windows
where you can view the factory. There is a gift-shop where you can
purchase the items sold in the catalog without paying the shipping.
There is even a restaurant where you can have lunch!  I am hoping
the Philly Dolly Meetup Group can go there after Thanksgiving!

Because the caroler used by Byer's Ltd. are 12 inches, their items are
perfect scale for barbie!
I like this table.
The snowman would be nice for your Holiday dioramas too!
What I really want is this caribou! I think it is very cute.
The Holiday stand are nice but I know I could make one.

I have this Lamp and it is made well!
This year the door, which you may have seen in others diorama is made in green.
It was done in red before.

You may have notice these in may dioramas on line.  They really photo well.

I have purchase I few items you might have seen in so of my dioramas.
You might remember this from a few Christmas ago!

I haven't use the lamp yet!
I removed the ribbons and wreathes for this and it cam be used for all types of
scenes.

and you can't forget the deer!

I got this one at a discount because of the broken antlers which I was able to repair.

More Thrift Store Find Not To Harp On It!

Hey Gang!

While at again one of my favorite thrift store I found this 1/6 size harp!

It is the perfect size for Barbie!

I found a small harp back in 2011 at TRU but nothing this size!
 Comparing!
There was nothing on it to say who it was made by.  No marks, stamps
or anything.  I though it might be made by Byers' Choice LTD but I didn't
see anything that look like it on their site.

There is something missing here but I don't know what it is. I think I will fill it in with
wood putty and paint it over.

 The strings!

I still think I need a stool or chair but it is a great diorama piece!

If you know who it is by, please let me know and send any info you
might have!
