90's Asian Dolls-Mei Ling And Jade Princess Just Girlz Doll!

 Each of these 12" vinyl fashion dolls has a poseable body and arms, sparkling brown eyes, and silken black hair. As the Lotus Dancer, Mei Ling enjoys performing beautiful Chinese dances using fans, streamers, and drums. She comes complete with her dance accessories and wears a pink-and-yellow silk dance outfit, finished with a jade-green jacket. Many adventures await your child when she plays with the newest addition to China Sprout's family.

As you can see, she has high-heeled feet.

The shoes she came with are for flat feet.  They rubberbanded them onto her high-heeled feet.

She has an immatation TNT body.

Bodies, I tried to give her articulation.

I thought about using this body, but she would be a little too tall and wouldn't fit her original outfit.

I decided to go with the Disney Belle body instead. The articulated Disney body has a smaller waist, Bend-N-Click knees, and high-heel feet. Her hair got out of control while I played with her.

She can wear our original outfit and instruct the drummers!

Another doll that came out about the same time is the Jade Princess Just Girlz Doll, an exclusive doll by Kmart/Sears. It was their "Celebrating Diversity doll!"

I purchased her for the dress!  The dress is really beautiful.  The doll was $18 at the time.  More than I had ever expected to pay for an off-brand doll. I found one with a beat-up box, and they marked it down.

I planned on selling the doll! She seemed to just hang around.  Finally, about the time the Liv dolls came out, she wore me down. I think part of my dislike was the light, high-arched eyebrows.

I put her on a Liv doll body!

She is wearing the outfit from the Vietnam War action figure female.

Count Down to the Chinese New Year!

Count Down to the Chinese New Year!

I added live action Mulan to my collection after finding her for $8.00 at Ollies.

She is by Hasbro and it the one store in stores other than Disney.

She need a articulated body so she got one of the Liv doll bodies I have around.  I have heard that the Disney store doll has an articulated body.

The great thing about the Liv doll body is that it is pretty close to the size of original body

of the live action Mulan. So here she is in the Mulan costume.

She is here for the Chinese New Year!

She will be showing Asian swords and weapons!

Her name is Ara.

So my dolls and I are still exploring China...that is purchases from China!
It was call the Girl 16 Moveable Body for Barbie.  You can never tell from
a picture what you will get.  Some time you take a chance.

And yes I got this one for free and just paid the shipping! (about $5.00 for
this and another item) I have to say, I was surprised!

So this one took a little longer to arrive than the last items I ordered. It was about a week
late. I had almost forgot about it when she showed up in the mail.

have bubbles either.  So I am happy it arrive save and sound!

 For some reason, I was expect the body to be more like a Liv body but is not!

 Liv body is about 10 inches. This body is shorter!  It about 9 1/4 inches and it is
lighter than the palest Liv body. Wait a minute...9 1/4 inches!!!

 Can the Asian Babysitter doll use this body?

 Well, the body is a little paler that Asian Babysitter.

This body is more mature than the Skipper body.  I think she would get noticed
in gym class with that body.

 She would really have great pose options though. Would she need new clothes and shoes?

 Nope! She can wear her original outfit including the shoes!

So now Hanna can move!

Tammi Lyn- A Christmas Card For Daddy!

Some might think that send someone a picture of yourself might be a little self centered, but in this case, it is not!  Tammi Lyn is sending her father a picture of her taken at the Magnolia Tea.  This tea was founded by the female members of his family and the last grand hostess, the women in charge of this event, was his mother and her grandmother.  She watched in the distance as a young girl and this is the first time she was old enough to go.  Tammi's mother doesn't like this types of events or living in the South!  She didn't want Tammi to attend.  Tammi didn't mention to her mother when the event was and that she wanted to go.  She saved her money and attended it quietly...or so she thought.

Tammi is send this picture to her dad because she knows how much it would mean to him too!

Dearest Daddy!

Have a Merry, Merry Christmas!  I wish I could spend it with you.  Mother and her new friend are taking me with them skiing so I will not be able to see you for the holiday. 

I have enclosed the Tea Photo taken of me at the Magnolia Tea!  Can you believe it, I am finally old enough to go to the tea!  I used the money you sent me for my birthday and my babysitting money to buy my dress and pay for the picture and ticket.  I even had my tea flowers preserved. 

I sat with Miss, Willie Mae and Miss Sara.  They were friends of Big Mama for all of her life.  They told me great stories about her at the tea!  They said having me there was like having her there!  I really miss her so!

I was so proud and happy to be there.  Please don't tell mother that I went. You know how she feel about those things. 

I hope you are able to come down to see me when I get back from Christmas break. I really want to talk to you.  See you soon.
