Elizabeth Taylor!

 Hey Gang!

Today is her birthday-- Elizabeth Taylor!

I posted photos of her when she passed in my post-- Her Time In The Sun Is Over! which was a take-off on A Place in the Sun.  I love the photos that I did for that post because she was in the the shadows and out of the sun.

It was a happy accident.

She was also in photos with my Divas when the new dresses I ordered off of ebay came in. She was rebodied on a Disney body with her blog name of Liz and personality in Five Lovely Ladies In New Dresses!

Liz in her dress!
The Divas in their dress before Liz and Ms. D. got into a argument and Ms. D had her banned from the blog. That is why you haven't seen her since 2013! She is no longer banned and back in the blog.
She is finally documented on the blog!

A short snippet on Lix Taylor from Wikipedia:

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor DBE (February 27, 1932 – March 23, 2011) was a British-American actress. She began her career as a child actress in the early 1940s and was one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s. She then became the highest paid movie star in the 1960s, remaining a well-known public figure for the rest of her life. In 1999, the American Film Institute named her the seventh-greatest.

Born in London to socially prominent American parents, Taylor moved with her family to Los Angeles in 1939. She made her acting debut with a minor role in the Universal Pictures film There's One Born Every Minute (1942), but the studio ended her contract after a year.  She was then signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and became a popular teen star after appearing in National Velvet (1944). She transitioned to mature roles in the 1950's when she starred in the comedy Father of the Bride (1950) and received critical acclaim for her performance in the drama A Place in the Sun (1951).  To read more, go to the wikipedia link

There are a few releases of Elizabeth Taylor doll by Mattel with the Elizabeth Taylor face.  I purchase the White Diamonds doll when she was released back in 2000 because she was on sale with a makeup purchase that became a Christmas president.

White Diamonds!

They did a really great job with the eyes!
There is also the Father of the Bride doll!

She looks like the fashion Icon that she is!

Sometimes For More Versatility , Changing The Body Can Be Necessary

 Hey Gang!

I've added this doll characters to my blog and I told you who they are but not where they came from.
Sisters Aya and Annyah.
This is Aya and I love this little heart tattoo on her face! She is.....
AA Barbie Sparkle Lights Fairy with the Elina headsculpt 2004.  She was released in 2010!
I though she had a wonderful face but the body wasn't play friendly for me!

So I put her on a Artsy Fashionista Barbie body!

Next up is Annyah! When I saw her face I knew she would be the perfect little sister for Aya!
She is AA Fairytale Magic who also has the Elina headsculpt and was released in 2011.

She is 8-inches tall fairy dolls but she feel like one of Stacie's friends. So I put her on a Stacie body. Here is Annyah with Mateo.

Lastly, is this doll who doesn't have a name yet.  Fairy to Mermaid Elina doll. She flies and swims!

She has the Mermaidia headsculpt and was released 2005/2006.

I haven't found a body for her or a job where she can wear this much makeup.  I am taking suggestions!

SindySnap!

 Hey Gang!

So I was thinking that Sean need some bagpipes to go along with his kilt!  Didn't know where I could get them but a came across a post on Facebook that showed them in a photo and I ask if they were made or purchased?  She said that she made them!

Her name on Facebook is SindySnap. I always look for her new post because I think for a little over a year, she has be posting about the bad potholes in her area.  (As a resident of Phila. PA, you know I feel her pain!) So she started stages her dolls in scenes at the potholes.  They are quite funny!

Photos courtesy of SindySnap!

I guess what is not so funny is that she finds so many of them to use in photos! Last year she had so many photos that she made a calendar and it sold out on Etsy!
Some of the calendars she had left before they sold out.

She also makes a lot of things for her doll and made them bagpipes.

I love his whole look!

I ask her  if I could I share how she made them with you all and she said yes! Here it is!

Her words in white!

Thinking of the bag shape I remembered a broken Peacock Christmas decoration that I'd recently thrown away...a quick delve into the rubbish bin ...perfect!
You can use anything that can take a hole to make this shape - cut up an old bath sponge if you haven't got any polystyrene.

Looking at reference photos from the internet, I needed 5 sticks to represent the 3 top pipes, the mouthpiece and flute pipe ( apologies, I don't know the proper names)
They all have different lengths and positions on the bag.
Thin strips of duct tape wound around at intervals to show the sections (don't look too closely I may have missed one or two)
Taking the pipes carefully out of their holes I covered the bag with a scrap of stretchy black fabric and glued it secure at the back, then put the pipes back in their place.
* I didn't have any tartan cloth but that would look great if you can find the right small scale print
A bit of paint - yes I could have done this while the pipes were lose, doh!
Painted the pipes black between the silver duct tape, which is their traditional colour.
(Or I could have painted the sticks all black first before I added the duct tape strips)
And there you go! I'm going to make mine and try to have it ready by St. Patty's Day!
So check back then for my post and Sean !

Jin and Joycelyn!

 Hey Gang!

Jin and Joycelyn are becoming fast friend!  They like a lot of the same books, movies, art and activities!

There might be some chemistry too but they aren't acting on it.  They are walking home together.

Joycelyn: So my sister just texted me about this exhibit in New York.  She wants to take the train up there to see it!
Jin: Your sister always keeps up with the coolest things!
Joycelyn: Do you want to go with us?

Jin: Do you think that she would mind?

Joycelyn: No! She likes you!

Jin: OK! I'll have to check with work. If I'm off, yes! The keep walking!

I have all of the BTS dolls but have only broken out two of them...Suga and Jung Kook. Now Jin comes out to play. I wanted to give them fashions that look more like what they might wear. I had to dig through my clothes to find this outfit for him and her. I don't even remember when and where I got the orange pleather bag.

Last Purchase of 2021!

 Hey Gang!

These guys were my last purchases for 2021!  I got them for $3.00 each plus shipping from a great Facebook seller Barbara Wilkenshoff.

They are Disney Descendants male dolls.  I purchase them nude but I put short on them because I didn't want to offend anyone right off.

Jay
Carlos
I got them as much for their bodies as their heads.
A while back I purchased Ben and I used him as a body donor of Norio

Jay will join Na'ilah as a couple on my blog. You might remember that I got Na'ilah(DC Superhero Bumblebee) a while back. Jay and Na'ilah will be styled and will appear later this year.  I am looking to style them like these dolls for Veronica Prince of Doll of a Darker Hue.  This her picture.

The are a great couple .One of my favorite Facebook couples Rex and

Warning Nude dolls!

They both have articulated elbows and knees. They both have at least one painted on glove on their hand.

Where Jay is a nice brown the color of many Barbie males like AA Prince Dominque or Fresh Squad Daniel.  Where Carlos is an odd complexion with a gray undertone.  So I don't see body swapping in his future.  He will probably stay on his body.  Maybe he may be a nice friend for Roxie
