Mattel BMR Dolls

Hey Gang!

I added the Mattel BMR 1959 dolls to my collection finally! I thought I would purchase them because I need body donors but one guys and the girl did catch my eye!

First up...let's call him green hair! There doesn't appear to be a name for the individual dolls, so I giving them my own names. I got two of this guy as body donors.

I have seen him styled  on FB and IG and people seem to love his face and fashions but not me!

Fashionista Ken #114 and #10 Classic Cool received the bodies

Mattel Promo Photo!

The outfit from the front!

From the back!

He has the Blaine headsculpt which I love but his face paint is a little to feminine for me.
I am not a fan of the white necklace either but I might work with a paint job!

I like the jacket! It is a keeper! The other items maybe can be combined with other doll
clothes for an OK outfit!
I am not sure how I feel about the shoes!  I have seen them painted and they do look
nice but am still not sure about them.

Next up is the real hair man bun"! I got three of these!  I was only planning on two
but when he got here, he changed my mind. I liked his face. The body works well for the
pale Ken doll that  don't -have articulation.

Twilight Jasper and Hoa-- Asian Ken with the purple hair received the bodies.
The outfit on this guy is pretty nice. I would not put a heavy sweat-hoodie with shorts
and sandals but hey, that is just me!
I am a fan of the crossbody bag and I do like the sandal! This guy is Mark.
Next up is the  AA Curvy girl! Now whoever styled this girl should have gotten a "F" in
fashion school! The flowered hoodie dress with the ruffle is just NO! No,no,no,no ,no!
It wouldn't even work for grandma!

The glasses are a Why??? Thank goodness she has a great face!
The plastic raincoat didn't work for Francie and it still doesn't work here!

I am liking the high ponytail! Besides her face and body, the pony is the only other high point!

I just had to sigh when I saw the shoes.  Were there a ton of gold boot left over from
something else?

So here she is redressed in what I think is a more fun ourfit!
Hi, I'm Rajiyah but my friends call me Raggie!
Not sure if this guy will be a DIY or a manikin.

A New Beginning! The Foster's

 Hey Gang!

The Fosters are taking a walk in the park!

Miley: It is a great day!

Reliegh: Yup! And we are going to come here to walk at least twice a week!
Miley: It is going to go well this time! We are prepared!
Reliegh: We are older, we know what we are doing... and we have insurance, too!
You will have all your visits, and I will be able to come with you.  I'm stoked!
Miley: You are just excited because you think it is a boy!
Reliegh: I'd be excited no matter what it is, but I do think it is a boy!
Miley: Your daughters are going to have a complex!
Reliegh: Our daughter and son are going to be OK!
Reliegh: We don't have anything from when Courtney was a baby!
Miley: It was all used anyway and wouldn't be safe!
Reliegh: You know we can't wait this long before the next baby! We should have three!
Miley: Wait, what?
Courtney: I won't be doing as much babysitting in the future. I just told my friends
I'm going to be a big sister!
Courtney: I am totally excited! Woo Hoo!
Courtney: Hey, baby, in there! It is your sister Courtney and your dad!
Baby: My very loud sister Courtney!

Disney Captain John Smith-For Memorial Day

Hey Gang!

Even though he is English, this is Disney month, so Captain John Smith
is our feature soldier for this Memorial Day!  He is the male lead character from the movie
Pocahontas.

1995 Sun Colors John Smith!

He's got some really sharp cheekbones!  You can cut yourself on those puppies!

About the move:

Pocahontas is a 1995 American animated adventure musical romantic historical drama film based on the life of the Native American woman Pocahontas. It portrays a fictionalized account of her historical encounter with Englishman John Smith and the Jamestown settlers who arrived from the Virginia Company. The film was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures on June 16, 1995. It is the 33rd Disney animated feature film and the sixth film produced and released during the Disney Renaissance. The film was directed by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg (his feature directorial debut). The voice cast stars Irene Bedard and Mel Gibson as Pocahontas and Smith, respectively, with David Ogden Stiers, Russell Means, Christian Bale, Billy Connolly, and Linda Hunt providing other voices. The score was written by Alan Menken, who also wrote the film's songs along with Stephen Schwartz. After making his directorial debut with The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Gabriel conceived the film during a Thanksgiving weekend. The project entered development concurrently with The Lion King (1994) and attracted most of Disney's top animators. Meanwhile, Disney studio chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg decided the film should be a serious romantic epic in the vein of Beauty and the Beast (1991), in the hope that, like Beauty, it would also be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Screenwriters Carl Binder, Susannah Grant, and Philip LaZebnik took creative liberties with history to make the film palatable to audiences. Pocahontas received mixed reactions from reviewers, who praised its animation, titular character, musical score, themes, voice performances, and songs, but criticized its story for lacking focus on tone. The film's historical inaccuracies and racial overtones received polarized responses. Pocahontas earned over $346 million at the box office. The film received two Academy Awards for Best Musical or Comedy Score for Menken and Best Original Song for "Colors of the Wind". According to critics, Pocahontas has influenced subsequent films.
Of the princess movies, it ranks # 7.  I am not sure if this is the move or progress in marketing over time.

If you know me, you know I haven't seen the movie. I didn't know that there was a Pocahontas II!
Did you? The fact that I haven't seen the movie never stops me from buying the dolls!
This is what he looked like in the box.
I have the 1995 Sun Color John Smith with the gift-giving arms. My doll wasn't new.  He
is a thrift store doll. He had his top and pants but no boots, helmet, sword, or pouch.
Over the years, I have completed his outfit. It will make a great Halloween
costume, and it can also be a prop in the museum.
I had the hardest time getting just the helmet after getting the breastplate.  I got it as part of a
group of hats on Facebook.
I rebodied my doll to give it articulated knees and elbows.  It will give him some versatility
role than his original body, and he can still fit into most Ken outfits.

Unlike the movie, he will not be paired with Pocahontas.  In my dolliverse, Kocoum
and Pocahontas will finally be a couple.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Disney Month Jafar and GT get new bodies!

 Hey Gang!

I purchased the Jafar doll because I liked his face and thought he would make a nice addition to my collection and stories.  I purchased him new online from Walmart. I had seen him listed out of the box for the same amount I paid for him but came with none of the accessories. So for the full deal, I purchased him new in the box.

Promo Photos

He comes like this!

Now we are moving to my photos. If you are like me and are tired of the gray spots in my photos. I have good news for you.  I ordered a new camera and it should be here any day now.  Yeah!

Out of the box

He has a great face and the turban is very cute!
His outfit has great detail.
His vest!
The vest reminds me of something that I might see on Memnon from The Scorpian King
The boots!

The back of the outfit
Under the vest he is wears a cape that is black gold and maroon.
Without the vest  and cape he is in a maroon thobe.
Velco closes in the back.
He has a great cropped hair cut
all over his head

When I got him, I was surprised how small he was!
I thought he would have been Ken or Joe size but he is much smaller.
Here is in nest to the new Babysitter Skipper boy and he is just a little smaller even
in shoes.

Warning Nude Dolls Below!

Nude he looks like this.
I had to rebody him right away.  No  man that looks that good should be so short!
I decided to put him on a Texas Cheerleader body.
The complexion is a little off but it still works better that the short body he was on.
He can still kinda wear the thobe but it is a little short.
I could add cuffs and pants underneath.

I gave his body to GT (my Manoa doll that I turned into a boy).  He really looks more like a boy now!
The larger neck squared off his jawline!  The new body gave him some muscles.
I can't locate my snake staff for my Jafar snake staff.
This image is borrowed.  The staff will go into the museum.
