Sweater Play!

Fall Sweater Play!

I sill have yarn from the poncho, scarfs and hats. I have
not seen many Barbie size crochet sweater patterns so I
have had to try and make my own. I am playing around
with size and shape.

I also have a new background. I think it doesn't allow
my camera to focus well. I playing around with it too.
I'm calling it a misty fall morning!

So, here is what I came up with.

I made two sweaters.

My small sweater.

Aw they look cute in their matching sweaters!! I wish I knew how to crochet. How do you make your own patterns for such a tedious little project?

Ooh la la. I like them both! Very nicely done. I'm challenging you to go smaller on the yarn size. I know you just want to slap me right about now.

I forgot to say that I love your new background!

Thanks Cat! To make my own pattern, I measure and write as I go. I do a few stiches measure it on the doll for fit, write it down. I then do some more stitches look at it. If I like it, I write it down. If not I take it out. You have to play with it. Hence the name.

Vanessa, you are always challenging all of us to do better. Why should this be any different. I will need smaller yarn and hooks. It might not come right away. I'm glad you like my background. I need to figure out ways to use it.

Love the sweaters. The hat is adorable too! I can crochet, but the only thing I am able to do is make a scarf. I am not very crafty. Love your background. Is it a poster?

Just wondering if you have seen the Barbie crochet book?

I especially like the tiny sweater on the little sister. Vanessa challenges you to use smaller yarn and hooks but I challenge you to make a sweater tutorial so the rest of us can benefit from your masterful design work.

I like the background and the ground shown in the first photo. Looks like Taylor is in a park. The ground looks like a pebbled path.

Cute sweaters. You might be able to find playscale doll sweater "patterns" in some of the older books at the Free Library's Art Department, Crafts section. (Savings in one area can boost spending in another ;-)

Vanessa, I have not seen the Barbie crochet book. Is it still in print?

Frannie, it is the same skill in the the scarf and in the sweater. I think I saw a few patterns on the net. I will post the link when I find it.

limbe dolls, I don't have a mic to do a tutorial but I will post others patterns and tutorials.

Thanks Georgia Girl!

Thanks D7ana. I like the way you think!

Hi All! For those of you looking for a pattern for a sweater, here is one on the web for a Molly Weasley sweater. I think it would look good in a solid color.
