Dancing!

The other day I was changing a few posts on my blog that went a little wonky when I changed the format of my blog.  As I was looking through old post and I came across the

It is one of my favorite posts that I have done. I loved seeing KiKi dance! Articulation of the SIS Cara body that I used for KiKi makes for a good photo! Yes Mattel that is why dolls need to be articulated and it is why we need more articulated bodies in more complexions.

I also thought about Vanessa’s new dance studio in Morristown too. No doubt we will see some great dancing with the articulated dolls that she has there too.

I have seen a few photos on Flickr of dolls dancing and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite photos of dolls dancing on Flickr.

One of the first I remember seeing was this post from Alrunia of Trichelle on a Liv body!  I wasn’t into Liv bodies then (Have times changed!) but I like these shot of her in movement.

Next is Madicix  and the Dolls Dance Academy. You will notice that there are two dance studios alone with a doll waiting area.

Dia 777 did this shot of her dance troop. I'm not to big on the many versions of the Desiree/ Artsy head sculpt but there is something about the tilt of her head in this shot that I like.  Here is one of the boys too!

The cute factor is show here with Zahara in this blue outfit by tru_fashionista
I am a big fan of the Tango head sculpt( I only have one) and I love her in this photo of her instructing.
I really love this “stomp the yard style” shot done by aneky43251called Breakin’ It Down!  She has some awesome photos and action shots in her photostream

Last but not least is this dance troop. I found this Westside workshop beautiful and funny at the same time!

OK that's my rant!

Thanks For Looking!

My Pre-Halloween Leg Transplant!

The Leg Transplant!
I promised you guys I would post Brenda's leg transplant
once it was complete. So her it is.

When I first post Brenda last year at Christmas, She was
on her original body. She didn't have articulation. Now that
she is going to be in stories, she needs to be able to move. I
had been looking for a new body for her.

Another picture of her on her old body.

I loved the graceful hand of this doll I received in trade
form Anika at Dollz4Moi. Thanks again Anika!
They are "prettier" than the hand of the Fashionista dolls
and many of the other dolls with articulation. I swapped
Brenda's head to this body!

The only problem was that she had flat feet! This means
no high heals! She has to have heels! So I remembered a
post from Alrunia where she talked about transferring
the legs from certain types of Barbie dolls. So that is
what I did. The site Alrunia referred to no longer exists
but her comment suggests how.

Thanks Alrunia! This post is for you!

NOTE PICTURES BELOW ARE A LITTLE GRAPHIC!

It works best on dolls that have their legs attached with the
black rubber band style attachment or elastic. I checked to
see if the ballerina had that type of leg joint and she did.

Next I had a donor leg body. It was the Dancing Brandy doll.
She was the first brandy they did. The neck on this doll
was strange but the legs were what I wanted.

They too had the black rubber attachment at the legs.

I cut the legs from the body and removed all black rubber
pieces that had held the legs together on both sets of legs.

I then used elastic to re-attach the legs to the body.

I used 1/4 inch elastic. I would had preferred black but
white was the only color my local WalMark had.

I restring the legs making them tight and knotting them.

I them cut off the extra elastic from the joint.

So her she is! My new and improved Brenda!

I hope this inspires others to do the same and have the
doll of your dreams. If you try it, please let me know.
Thanks for looking!

Some Of My Favorite People on Flickr!

Flickr Friends! I do spend a lot of time on the net. I ready many of your blogs and follow your stories. So… besides reading other people’s blogs, I also view others pictures on Flickr. Three of my favorite site that don’t have blogs too (or at least that I know of) are as follows: Alrunia—You many have see her comments on my blog. She takes great close up photos and she makes some interesting doll clothes. She not in the States and it gives me a chance to see things that are available in other countries. Sometimes that is not a good thing! Prop Master Shillmans—He does really great props. He has a store window that is too cool! I would love to be that creative. Styles and Hair Floccentric—He does some wicked re-rooting and styling of dolls! He currently has a re-root of Rees that is to die for! It blows me away! He also has some great pictures of Kira that he styled. Tell them I said Hi!
