I know Monster High Is Big But Dang!

Hey Gang,

I just saw the new Big Monster High dolls!  I wonder how will they
sell?  I'm not a MH fan although I did find a Noir Kitty at the thrift store
and am keeping her! Will kids want the big "A" doll?  Let's see!

OK, Thanks For Looking!

I think that is a little over the top. Maybe they were hoping they would be like the large My Size (or something like that) Barbie. I wouldn't buy her.

Yikes, yeah really they are huge! I like Monster High a lot, but have no desire to add any big ones to my collection. I would guess a kid would like these a lot, but your guess really is as good as mine. :)

They are big. I am debating if I will add to my collection

I wasn't aware that they were coming out with more of the bigger dolls. I may have to get Clawdeen if one is made of her, but that will be it. Lol! I have to draw the line somewhere.

I saw them too and they creep me out. I find it interesting though, how MGA(?) or whomever makes MH...makes a larger six and still kept the articulation. Meanwhile...Mattel keeps giving us selective articulation. :-/

Well, I *am* a fan of MH, but only in 1/6 scale, so I have no idea really! But I'm definitely curious to find out. People who collect 1/4 BJDs might like them (or hate them for not being real BJDs?).

I love those big dolls, but I do wonder how they'd fit in with the rest of them when it comes to play time. Maybe as the regular doll's giant friend?

Or maybe as a side-kick for some of the 18" play dolls?

I haven't seen them yet. I would think they look really long.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in real life. I think they may be quite popular - I've spoken to some girls who collect/play with MH dolls and many of them want one.

I've seen them at Walmart and I am still confused on the size. Are the getting into the larger scale now? Anyhoo, I'm sure they will be a hit.

Tracy India, that's still Mattel...

I saw Gooliope in a store, not my cup of tea because I like dolls as small as they can be. I just like small things. But the big ones have slightly more articulation and are easier to sew for and customize.

I am not a fan of the playscale size. The only three I own were found at a thrift store, dirt cheap, which is the only reason they are here. The larger version will remain on store shelves as far as my buying dollars are concerned.

Thanks for your comments Janainah, Farrah, Male Doll World, Georgia Girl, Tracy, Anderson's All-Purpose, jSarie, The grandmommy, Carrickters, Brini, blackKitty and dbg of BDE! The comments very interesting and went the full spectrum! As a collector, I'm always curious what will sell and what is a hit! As someone how is known to be "Auntie Mame " in my family and buys the ridiculous gifts (ie the drums set and the 6 ft giraffe) I wondered what kids thought. For me as the person, it too much like the clown in poltergeist! You might as well give the thing a knife and turn the lights out!

TRACY! You are soo right about the body!

Hmm. I would like to see one in person, play with it even and test out it's articulation. But own one? Nope. I think big dolls should be cuddly and huggable. I don't see Monster High and cuddly as going together.
