I guest it is because I'm from Philly!

Hey Gang!

Another doll I got in 2014 is the Big and Beautiful Dasia.  I had wanted
her for a long time.  I just didn't have the money for her at the last Philadelphia
International Doll Show. One of the owners of the company was selling dolls
she had left.  I purchased her nude.  Here she is in a tube dress.

I guess it is because I'm from Philly but I think the big and beautiful Dasia looks
like Jill Scott and Phylliss Hyman

Jill Scott

Dasia
Phyllis Hyman

I love her full figured body!  I have to find clothes for her.  I'll show you
what I have for her sometime soon.

Silhouette
I took her necklace off but she has on her earnings. Her necklace is similar.
Nude
I purchase this doll and I think she had in storage.   I am not sure if the doll
was smashed but one side of her body seem further out than the other.

Shots of the body.
Molded in panties.
One side the body is higher than the other.
Her feet don't sit firmly on the floor!  I not sure if it is made this way or if
it is because she was smashed in a box.

One of my favorite videos!

I love the images of Philly in this video!

OK! Thanks For Looking!

Thanks for sharing your Dasia.

I couldn't see the side of body differences you mentioned, but I do see that one leg seems shorter than the other. I will have to check the nude doll I purchased from Georgette to see if there is a leg length discrepancy.

Be careful with dark fabrics. Dasia's body is porous and will easily absorb some dyes.

Dasia does favor Jill Scott, but I don't see Phyllis Hyman in her.

I have her too and she is one of my favorites. I have to make something nice for her to wear very soon. My granddaughter keeps asking why she doesn't have on clothes like the other dolls. lol
I have a problem with her arms being too long and awkward. If they weren't, I would have purchased several more!

She's beautiful, congratulations with this pretty doll! I look forward to see her in other outfits. She does resemble the two ladies on the photographs :-).

I got her too when the creator was selling what she had left in stock. I need to make some clothes for mine and some shoes. BTW, mine does not have the uneven body problem yours does. Both of her feet are planted firmly on the ground when she stands.

I think she is awesome! I also love her full figure. If I find any clothes that she can wear, I will post it on my blog!

Cool find! I know these dolls are discontinued and hard to find, so if I stumbled over her I'd buy her too, even nude.

Congrats on getting Dasia. You'll find something for her soon -- or sew something?

Congratulations on getting her! I can see the resemblance. All are lovely. I was able to pick her up when Debbie posted on her blog that Georgette had some extra's. I I was very happy to pick up a couple. I need to make some clothes for them. Please share if you find anyone that has clothes that she can wear.

Thanks for featuring Dasia. I bought one from Georgette in the fall and I already had one. I scalped the second one so she can wear wigs. She has a variety of hairstyles but not many clothes to choose from. I hope Georgette will be able to bring these ladies back on the market one day.

Dasia is such a great doll! I think I got mine in the same way as you, directly from super kind owner of Big Beautiful Dolls company. I can't wait for post with clothes for Dasia! I couldn't find any that I would like so I sew some:

I can see some similarities between Dasia and Phyllis Hyman indeed!

It's so nice to see your Dasia! I can see the resemblance to Jill Scott, but not to Phyllis Hymen. Dasia is a lovely doll.

I do see a Jill Scott resemblance. Sorry you had issues with your Dasia. I chose not to purchase one, mainly because of the arms, but I LOVE her full figure. Lena said, get out that sewing machine and start making her some clothes.

By the way, I have the hardest time commenting on your blog. I use feedly.com and bloglovin' to check my blogs, and more often than not, your blog won't accept a comment from those sites. I had to hop out and go to my blogroll, where for some reason your blog only shows up under the hidden blog list. So I am reading your posts, but sometimes don't have the time to jump through all the hoops to leave a comment.

Congrats, Ms. Leo! But did you make the tube dress she is wearing or it's from another doll?
