The Witch Doctor!

Hey Gang!

After purchasing Slim Fashionista #9 Plaid On Point, I felt
the head was too big for the body. So I shrunk the head to
a size I feel is more proportional to the body.

Picture from Mattel.

Comparison of my doll after his head shrinking treatment.

The neck is still the same size!  Good thing I let the head dry on the body.
I am calling him Coleman!

I purchased Hyped on Stripes and Switched his head on to an articulated body!
Picture from Mattel
Rebodied on to a Hunter Huntsman body!

So why couldn't Mattel do this!
 Size comparison!
I am calling him Roman.
Zeke, Roman and Coleman.

OK, Thanks For Looking!

Great job on the head shrinkage. I rebodied mine to a Liv Jake body, but haven't attempted a head shrink yet! I also got some various joint sized from Japan Hobby Link and am going to try to see if I can add joints to some of these bodies. I will let you know the results!

OMG, you're brave. I would be too scared to put a doll head into a vat of acetone. I am surprise it didn't remove the face paint though. I think the reason Mattel makes these exaggerated proportions is because of the cartoon characters kids are used to seeing. Anyway, Bravo for making this work.

He looks much better now! I didn't know it was possible to shrink heads! Good job. But I also like the one you rebodied.

Thanks for your comments Millicent,The grandmommy, Georgia Girl Phyllis, April and V.!

Millicent and Georgia Girl I was really pleased with how he came out! I made me look at a few other and put them on the list!

The grandmommy, They are really more play-worthy now!

Phyllis,Was the Jake body a good color match for the AA Plaid On Point doll or did you rebody the Hyped on Stripes? I did see someone of Flickr cut the arms and add joints to them. I don't know what I would use to cut the joints but please give us a tutorial if you do!

April, It wasn't the pure acetone. I do think that would take the face paint off. I used the regular nail polish remover. It isn't as strong and I soaked the head for 6 hours twice. A day in between.

V., I need another one of those bodies now for another doll!

That shrunken head looks much better. I thought it was too big too.

That looks like a perfect match on the Hype doll.

Thanks for your comments Jaye and Muff.

Jaye, with those smaller shoulders, the head really was out of proportion.

Muff, Thank you again for your help! I am at a point in my dolly development where I am trying things. It is good to have a mentor.
