Fully Articulated Skipper!

Hi Gang!

I just wanted to show you my fully articulated Skipper doll.  She is a leg swap doll.  I will have to create a new label for leg swaps because she is my second.  I guess I will call it leg transplant for now.  I do a lot of head swaps.  Look for them under the label HSD.

If you remember a while back I posted about the Barbie Sisters 2Paks when they came out. That is my most viewed post!  In that post I showed you my Barbie 2 Pak Sisters Skateboard with Skipper and Chelsea.

When Mattel did this new version of Skipper, they gave her only articulated knees.  What a bummer!  She was a new head sculpt, so I had to have her. But wit he fashionista dolls out I longed for a skipper with more articulation!

Recently Mattel has released a new Skippers with articulated arms one of which is Hula Dance Set. This only made me want a fully articulated Skipper more.  I had seem some pictures on flickr about it remove the legs of the older doll and putting them on the body of the newer doll. Thanks Alrunia! I purchase that set in hopes of one day doing it. When  I met up with Cyano we talked about it too and I was told that it was pretty easy!  So with my new found courage, I tried it!  Here she is!

I put the other legs on the older doll.  She is a complete doll now and will go on my dollpage for sale.

I am inspired by all you other bloggers out there!  You may think that no one care about what you do but we all do!! You send good vibrations into the universe!  And whenever you post we are the happy recipients of your love of dolls!

Thanks For Looking!

Hello from Spain: I bought a few months ago these sisters. I saw the body articulable of Skipper. It is the only collection with articulated body. I really like your photos with Skipper dancing. Keep in touch

I did this swap after the Hula dolls were released. I used the Skipper with the blue haired streak for my new fully articulated doll. Great minds and all that. I got the info from another friend who did the swap 1st :O)

Do you sell these articulated skippers by any chance?

Hey, is there a clearer link to how to do a leg swap? The ones I found using your link either just show a picture or don't have any. Thanks!

Thanks for your comment Cynthia!
Here is a link that shows you what the ball joint looks like. I found that heating up the legs and hips by sitting the doll with the legs turned upward in hot water, then slowly pulling the legs outward away from the body in that position. The legs will pop of the ball joint. You will have to heat the joint to put new legs on. Hope that helps.

This is an excellent idea. If I ever find these Skipper dolls for a reasonable I will definitely do this.
