So my fellow bloggers, diorama makers and video makers, whendoes a post become a video? Do you start it out as a video? Filming
as a video. Do you take photos and turn those into a video? I would
love to hear what you think!
For me it happen two ways. The first is a planned video from photos.
The second is a post that seems long to me and I turn it into a video
while preparing it to post or later as I review a post.
I was reviewing this post and thought it show be a video.

Well personally, I think that a video should have movement; it should talk to me, otherwise, all you've got is a moving slide show. You need to plan it as a video. It needs to advance quickly and precisely from point A to point B otherwise you've lost me.
I've only done a few video tutorials because they are a LOT of work when they are done well and I don't have help. What I hate with some YouTube tutorials is that the authors don't edit and the content drags along. If you are going to do photos and typed text, then that's what you should do. The advantage to doing it that way is that your followers who don't speak English can use the translate feature and follow the post in their own language. But if you are going to do a video...design it that way. Just my 2 cents.
A quality video is beyond my ability and inclination. I'm also much more eloquent with the written word. So I just stick with my blog.
I like reading blogs and watching videos. The video you posted was a wonderful Silent Era-esque mix of the two.
For awhile I tried to post a video and a corresponding blog post at the same time. That became very tedious because truth be told, I hated editing videos. I would say that there were a few times I turned something into a video when I was rambling on too much in print. For the most part though, if something was a video I intended it that way from the start.
Speaking to April's comment, I'm the opposite because I love slide show videos. Doll storytellers post photo slide shows that are full of life and implied movement. It's the content that matters to me, not necessarily the presentation. I still watch the slide show videos of Vanessa Morrison and DollandCrafts' A Doll Story on YouTube. Seeing their videos is what got me interested in doll collecting in the first place.
Thanks for your comments April, Jeanie and Muff! Videos if you choose to do them, will and should come about in many forms. I would hope that one day soon the process, especially editing, would be easier and accessible for all. Youtube has made several changes and it is often hard for an old girl like me to keep up! BTW, I too still watch Vanessa's videos and was please do discover A Doll Story. Too funny!
