My Newest Purchases-Toile Chairs!

Toile Chairs

I purchased these two chairs from Style In Scale after seeing them on the blog for sale. Toile de Jouy, sometimes abbreviated to simply "toile", is a type of decorating pattern consisting of a usually white or off-white background on which a repeated pattern depicting a fairly complex scene, generally of a pastoral theme such as (for example) a couple having a picnic by a lake. The pattern portion consists of a single color, most often black, dark red, or blue. The word toile is French -meaning "linen cloth" or "canvas" — particularly cloth or canvas for painting on. I believe this color is called agrarian red or Jamestown red

Claiming The Chairs
Renee has claimed the chairs. They remind her of when they were living in Paris. She has made a cozy living room for Etienne and herself with them.

Here they are relaxing after dinner in the living room. She has still not convinced him to remove his uniform once he is home.

He still has 12 years left before he can retire but he loves the military and may stay even longer. He thinks it best that he not share that with Renee’.
What are you thinking?
How beautiful you are and how lucky I am …stuff like that.
Oh really?
Yup!

I don’t even believe that!

President Obama and Michelle: Thank you for having us on your program.
How has live changed for you now that you are in the White House.
President Obama: I use to be able to take a long walk by myself to clear my head.
Gulf: You can still walk can't you? President Obam: Not without Secret Service agents with me.
President Obama: Agents Woo and Dallas are great but it is not the same as by myself!

They come with me when I go for a walk and they are with me when I go for a swim on the beach.
Gulf: What about you Mrs. Obama? Do these agent have to be everywhere you are too?
Michelle Obama: I have my own detail of Secret Service agents most of the time. Just not today because we are together.

Woo: Keep alert! Watch out for the camera man.

Getting Away To Re-enerigize!

My Latest Purchase! Updated!!

This is my most recent purchase. Ta da! President Obama. Yes! I always call him President Obama. I bought him from Monkey Depot. He came in the mail a few days ago. He came nude...that was a surprise... no strategically place tissue...no nothing! Just open the box and bam! OK! He did have these plastic thigh enhancer! Plastic piece that made the thighs look bigger. What's that about???? (not even worth a photo) The complexion is a little off but I really like the action figure.

While I am trying to figure out what I have that I would want him to wear, you know presidential, I took these shots. I call it ... Getting Away To Re-energize! It looks like one of the shot I saw in the news on his past trips to Hawaii.

The expression on his face says that it is not a really get away.

He is still thinking about things. I think Julia looks like Michelle Obama. She might have to make an appearance. Wow...now I'm really going to have to think. The First Lady's clothing is very important!

S.I.S. Julian

Julian-Little S.I.S Friend

I wasn't sure I like this doll when I first saw him
but he was the only young male in the line so I
knew he would find his way into my collection.
He was hard to come by. I had seen him on line but
never in the stores. While in Target what did I see...
Yup! Julian He was the only one there. This means
if you want to think about it and come back....he won't
be there. So I bought him when I saw him. ( I have
learned my lesson.)
One of the reason I was unsure about him was the
body. His face is the Tommy face but this in a new body.
Mattel has been play around with the faces and the bodies of
the Kelly size dolls. A few years ago they had a really wide face.
and now it time to play around with the body I guess. The longer/shorter
leg and torso and bigger head thing doesn't work for me. Belly bottom waist,
segmented arms and legs....hit! The rest...miss.

He is not the size of Tommy or the size of Todd. ( the next size
doll up) This means clothes are an issue. Especially if you don't
like what he is wearing. I was not feeling his shirt!
I didn't like the colors. I will do something about it but I'm
not quite sure what. White is always the
best first try.

So here are the pictures and comparisons.

Julian

"The fellas!" Tommy, Olmec, Ryan, Julian

Fellas plus Todd. You can obviously see his arms
and legs are longer than the Tommy/Ryan and Olmec dolls.
He is too small for Todd clothes.

Olmec Doll

Olmec Child Doll

This little guy is part of a set. Olmec Menelik golf set.
I will show them together in a future post.
I deboxed him long ago so I don't know his name. (oops!)
He is the size of Barbie doll Tommy. I had not see another
Imani/Menelik doll to have a child with it but I could
be wrong. When I first purchased him several years ago,
I thought he was a knock of of Tommy but he has his own face.
He has flocked hair which I have not seen on Tommy.
His body could be a copy. Feet, hands and torso
are the same sizes as Tommy.
Surprisingly enough he isn't by Olmec but by
Totsy. He can fit Todd size clothes. This is a
good thing when you dressing and redressing
dolls. You will see why in my next post.

Introducing Aya

Aya!

I have never like the Barbie fairies to much. I thought that those dolls were really for children but this one fairy got my attention. I had been looking at her for quite some time. I didn't like the body. Strange looking feet that were not good for shoes. The legs were too long and the body too short. Oh and can I tell you... I hate molded on clothes! It is like I am not given a choice as to what the doll can wear. That is the biggest part of the fun of any doll is what it can wear. Yet I always looked at her every time I came to the store to by something else.
Well I broke down and bought her! Yes I still didn't like the body
but I though I could put her on a new body. My first choice was
because I thought her neck opening was too small for a full grown
size body but I was wrong. Then I was going to put the head on a
belly button body. I knew I had a few the right complexion. But
something said that she needed to go on the Artsybody.
I had one handy. So now meet Aya! (Ahya)

Aya has a beautiful face and the heart tattoo on her cheek... it is
the cutest thing! So who is Aya?
What is the personality that she has?
Well... she is an Army brat that has live in LA, London,
Tokyo and NY. That has influenced her fashion style.
She is a little Hip Hop, Anime, Mod, and Sweet. She is not
afraid of color and is having fun with it. She loves thrift
shops and couture!
Aya!

Aya in Artsy outfit! Kinda funky and
mod.

I love her tattoo!

A crown for a queen!

She loves shoes too! I don't like these boots but
she does!

Aya in one of her Anime out fits. She fell in love with
this style while living in Tokyo.
Some people don't get her.

Aya love Alisha Keys and loves her style!
She adds hip hop into her fashion mix.

Hip Hop Aya.
She saw this bag and had to have it!

She has her Kangol.

Sweet!
